"We need to treat this like a tangled knot. If we tackle the big parts first, the rest should slowly unravel itself. There are two main things we need to figure out first, being;
1. What type of crime this is, a crime of opportunity or one of motive
2. How the killer did this
This looks too clean, too premeditated to be a crime of opportunity. I vote that it's probably a crime of motive. There are two ways a killer could've done this, but neither make sense."

I turned to Suko and lightly grabbed his shoulders. "We aren't abandoning him, we'd never. Femi's killer is exempt, and therefore should have no issue revealing themself by the end of the trial." I put my head up and glared, sweeping my eyes across the room. I turned back to Suko in a whisper. "And I will make them pay as soon as they do."

Femi's killer. Suko almost burst into tears at the thought. But- revenge- yes, punishment of the killer- that had to come first.
"Okay." Their voice was too quiet- too shaky. "Okay. We... will catch Femi's killer."
Niwa Atsushi
"Yeah... motive." Niwa tugged nervously on his hair. He was making a habit of that now. "Does anyone have any motive? Oh, sorry- I mean, does anyone know anyone with a motive." It's not like the killer would just do a magical reveal...

"Puhuhuhu~ be my guest." There was an off-putting edge to its grin. Hisoka knew why. But he valued Maji's life above the rest of them.
So... he would ensure Maji's safety first.
They could all be executed, if only so Maji could live.
A sickening lurch in his stomach. That was wrong. Everything in him screamed at the thought. Who was he, to decide that lives were his to play with? Who was he to be the puppermaster?
He closed his eyes and thought.

I pulled out a notebook and pencil from my hair, taking notes. "There are three possibilities.
1. Amano was killed before everyone left the trial room, but the problem is that someone had to have noticed.
2. Someone stayed in the trial room and killed him, in which case we need to identify how they coule've gotten out.
3. Lastly, someone could've locked Amano in the room and snuck in later to kill him. Similar issues as #2."

Trial Room
The trial room was rectangular in nature, with no windows- only two doors and a ventilation shaft. One door lead outside of the trial room. The other presumably lead to the Execution Room, but it was locked tight.
The ceiling curved upward.
By Amano's body, there is a strange bloody spot, on the opposite side of his head. It is slightly larger than his actual wound. The splash lightens up near the edges.
An isolated, locked room. Just like Femi's.

I started muttering and jotting down notes. "I wonder... was there even a killer?"

"Hey- um, should we try and figure out that weird bloodstain?" Niwa immediately shut his mouth. That was too much. Onto terror.
Suko blinked. "It shouldn't be there. Amano doesn't have any injuries large enough to create it, besides the obvious head one. And there'd be some indication of poison on the Monokuma File." The eerily calm words were not something Niwa liked hearing from Suko. "So... why is it there? Did the killer put it there?"

"What if the weapon was a semi-metaphorical double edged sword? If someone had a blunt object..." I started sketching. "With a sharp piece near where they were gripping it..." scribble scribble "Then hitting Amano in the head would likely cut them near the hand, dripping blood, and depending on their stance relative to him..." scribble "It could, realistically, drip there."

"It fades near the edges, though," Suko pointed out. "Why should it be lighter if it comes from a bleeding wound? The floor is flat- it wouldn't run. And not in opposing directions."
They blinked. Light was beginning to return to their eyes. But the blankness of their face remained the same.
Hisoka glanced at Megami. There was a bit of a twinkle in his eye. Had she said something? Then he grimaced and turned away. (AKA, in a sense, you're on the right track.)

You are correct to think of a weapon. Consider Amano's cause of death and relate it to the bloodstain. The stain is Amano's, not the killer's.]

"Hmm... what if it was some sort of mallet? You said the blood was running in opposite directions, if it got on both edges of the mallet and the mallet was held like a T facing the floor, then the blood would likely drip in a sort of line."

Hisoka was still. His eyes flicked back and forth between Megami and Suko. He seemed to be thinking deeply. But he remained silent.
"I guess that makes sense..." Suko drooped a bit. "How're we going to find Amano's killer?"
"But where would the weapon go?" Niwa asked. He glanced at Monokuma's mallet. It seemed immaculate. No sign of rust or blood.

"That would explain the odd scarcity. If there were some incline on the weapon. It was- probably set down." Niwa blinked. There was a strangely delighted light in his eyes. "And that's why it fades near the end. The curvature of the bat stopped it from resting entirely on the ground."
"Does this mean Femi and Amano's deaths are connected?" Suko piped up.

"If Femi and Amano's deaths are connected, we need to investigate Femi's now!" The light in Suko's eyes died. "We need to figure it out. If it's relevant- and for Femi."
They looked up.
