"Ah, humility is not a good suit in you. I'm glad we have got past the usual repartee." Hisoka smiled, his head tilting to the side. "Straight to the point is far nicer. You are yourself, truly to every bloody bone in your body."

"But I see that others are observibg your outfit tonight. It is a fine one, woven from truth and falsehoods. Your own truth, and one I find myself enjoying."

Hisoka chuckled.

"Quite nice. Although I haven't heard a compliment from you on my outfit. Do you think it is worthy of your hand?" Hisoka offered a gloved hand to Majikaruman.

Maji's fingers wrapped around Hisoka's. Hisoka returned the embrace, intertwining his own with the masked phoenix. "Well then, I suppose you like my company quite a bit then." Hisoka glided to Maji's side. "Thank you. I have... deep regard for you, what you have done here."

He dipped his head, acknowledging his weakness.

Then, he raised it.

"Shall we go?"

Femi froze. No one had ever said such words to him before. He almost instinctiviely believed them a lie. Eventually, he managed to wipe his tears and contain himself.

"I- I want to go on a date with you, too, Suko..." Most precious person here. I won't abandon you. Femi almost giggled. The... the way they talked was so- goofy sometimes-

But... to hear that...

His eyes widened as Suko drew close to him. Wwait... did he want to- what? Did he want to...

KISS?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!???!?!??!??!

Oh no, he could feel his face growing warm. And as Suko's eyes gazed into his own...

He couldn't control himself and he cut Suko off by locking lips with them.

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume had her index finger and thumb held up pensively to her face and she nodded with vigor. "Ah, that makes sense. I think I understand. How long have you been playing this for, Megami?"

"Since my fourth birthday, that's around the time my birthday parties became an excuse for my parents to make business deals. The themes got really boring, never anything I liked, so eventually I decided to find a way to pass the time during birthday parties. We had a foosball table in the living room, so I got into that. I didn't have many opponents, most of the guests were rich people my parents wanted to talk to, but it was still pretty fun."

Hisoka nodded. Maji's face was melting, reforming itself. Each new feature hardened, pressing deeper into his skin. New mask, new clothes. It was rather tiring, to create those. But it was also essential to being human.

And being a Yamanaku.

His hand clenched around Maji's. "I'm not aware of what one tends to do at raucous parties such as this one." He glanced at Maji. "Perhaps you could show me?"

Suko Nobu

Suko's eyes widened as Femi's lips connected with theirs. Their entire world melted to nothing. They wrapped their arms around Femi's neck, leaning into the kiss.

Femi's eyes fluttered. Suko watched the movement of each eyelash, mystified. He's...

They finally pulled back, blinking frantically. They had to breathe, but they couldn't- because Femi was still staring at them and-

"Wow," they breathed. "Oh... wow... Femi. I-" I think I'm in love with you? That's so stupid and cheesy- "You're..." You're beautiful? Shush. "Femi."

Niwa Atsushi

"Keiki..." Niwa trailed off. He didn't know what to say. But then, suddenly, he recalled something. Something important... "I wrote something for you." He flushed deeply, instantly regretting it. "Forget I said anything. You probably aren't interested..."

Narrator

"TEENAGERS! TEENAGERS ALERT!" Monokuma popped out of the floor. "Roleplayers, finish up this section before we watch all the ships becoming canon! The grim atmosphere may not survive all that cheesy cuteness! PLEASE!"

It was full of frantic scribbles of a person with green eyes and a smile that Niwa extensively described. Poems smattered every other page, full of strange and ethereal metaphors and some only too crystal clear. The last page was a letter of sorts, scribbled out with a pen . It was addressed to Keiki, but completely unreadable.

Niwa fell back down to Keiki's side. "Sorry. I wrote a lot more than I... let on." He tugged on his hair nervously. "It's probably creepy... right?"

Suko’s arms, around his neck… the only sound he could hear was the loud thudding of his own heart. Feeling Suko’s lips pressed to his… He felt like a drop of water slowly evaporating…

Then as Suko pulled back, his eyes widened. He tapped his fingers to his lips. “Wh-what did- what did I just- oh my gosh, Suko, I’m so sorry- I didn’t even- make sure that was what you meant, I- I didn’t mean to- I-”

He drew out a breath he’d barely noticed he was holding in. “That was… something, I-”

I’ve never kissed anyone before. And I- I just… I kissed Suko. Just now. WHAT IF THEY HATE ME!?

“A-Anyway!! We should- probably dance, right?” He laughed to himself. He hoped they hadn’t minded…

No, they hadn’t minded!! Right? It didn’t look like they minded…

Kowai inhaled. She supposed she should go see Koda. But something kept prodding at her… what had Hisoka meant? A place you could observe everyone in the party…

She walked over to Niwa and hugged him. “See you later, Niwa!”

Femi heard Kowai’s loud and obnoxious voice ring across the room. He noticed her hugging Niwa. “Hey, Suko! Uh… I just noticed something- how Niwa and Kowai both have purple hair? That’s kinda a cool coincidence, isn’t it? Do you think they’re related or something?” he joked. I mean, the shades are really different. So probably not.

“Oh, it sounds like it’s- very important to you, Megami,” Suzume replied. “I didn’t really have anyone who was interested in anything I liked either. Except, well, my parents weren’t really interested, but… they supported me…” She waved her hand as though to wave the memory away. “Forget it. Let’s play.”

Her eyes lit up as she spotted Koda, and Niwa was saved. For now.
"KODAAA! Hey!" Kowai ran over to her. "I missed you! What happened?"
Wait what the hell-- I'm not... relieved to see her? Of course I'm not, why would I be?
