Cold and unrevealing as usual, not even phased. Typical Hisoka.
Suzume Fujimori’s POV
…that sounded…
familiar.
Femi Davis’s POV
“And I’m… sorry for the things I’ve said to you. And for the times I yelled at you. I’ve- judged you so harshly, and- I barely even knew you, I-” He felt himself almost driven to tears again. "I- I..." He leaned forward and hugged Suko.

Suko Nobu
Suko took the soda wordlessly. Femi was already looking fidgety, and like he wanted to say something important. Suko decided it was a great kindness. “Look, Suko, I- just wanted to say- I’m really happy to be here with you. Right now. Like… I know we’re in a Killing Game and all. But maybe, for now at least, can we pretend no one is going to die? Just enjoy the present moment?” He didn't look Suko in the eyes. Present moment... No one is going to die... Suko's heart thudded painfully in their chest, banging against their fragile ribs.
“And I’m… sorry for the things I’ve said to you. And for the times I yelled at you. I’ve- judged you so harshly, and- I barely even knew you, I-” Femi finally looked at them. "I- I..." Then his arms clasped around Suko.
Suko blinked with surprise. They'd never known someone's arms to be so warm before... They found themself smiling and wrapping their own arms around him. Femi was right. Of course. The world faded away, and only bright colours touched their eyes and heart.
"You'll live, tonight, and forever," they promised. "I'm here, Femi. And I'll be here tonight."
Hisoka Yamanaku
Anger, surprising, but searing passed through him. He turned away from her. "I suppose so," he said coolly. "Well, if you don't need anything, I will be off. I'd prefer to stay in a place where I can observe the whole party." He angled his head a bit to look at her. "Do you know of any place like that?"
Any place where a... murder might be carried out?
Femi Davis’s POV
Femi was smiling, and smiling, and smiling. He was laughing and crying at the same time… He felt so safe here. He wanted Suko to feel safe too…
He felt like he was back in the pastures. It wasn't a pleasant place, but he was safe there. Safe... Not always happy, but safe...
But... he felt happy here. With Suko. And he wanted it to last. To just let go of his uncertainty and fear for a while.
He heard their heartbeat... it was odd somehow-- but... he liked hearing it...

Promise you'll live.
Femi's face stared back at them, full of hope and light. He trusted them explicitly. "I promise," they lied. "Guess we're just going to drink excessive amounts of soda!" They giggled. "Come on~! Let's go sit in the corner and stare at people and pretend we're Hisoka-jerk and stuff!" They tugged on his arm.
Hisoka Yamanaku
“Why would you like to know of a place like that?” As per usual, Kowai's face had that horrible blank look underneath her smile. There was no emotion. She was calculating- while maintaining her mask above it.
She was truly a monster.
Not even a soul lurked beneath her skin.
"Hmph." Hisoka turned away from her. "I'll see you, I suppose."
Keiki grinned. The paused, then frowned. "Niwaaa- have you seen....Chuku? Random, I know- buut-....she wasn't there at the party. I haven't seen for ages- what if she's dead-!?"
"Niwa-! She could be dead!-"
"Oh my gawd- she could be dead. I feel bad, we never talked to her. She seemed so alone. Oh my gawd. "
"You don't have to, I was just curious." My ears perked up at the conversations I, and likely my date, overheard. Odd...

Looking around, I quickly spotted Hisoka. "Holy shit, I'm gay." My mouth spoke my thoughts on autopilot as I subconsciously walked over.
Hisoka Yamanaku
As Hisoka walked away from Kowai, he listened for footsteps. They came from his left. Slightly alarmed, he spun, and came face-to-face with Maji.
Ah-
He kept a straight face.
"Hello," he greeted.
Niwa Atsushi
Niwa blushed. "Ah, okay."
Femi Davis’s POV
Couldn’t they have one nice night together? “That sounds like a great idea!” Femi replied, laughing as he went with Suko. And then he thought of Hisoka…
Hisoka… was he okay? He shook the thought away.
“I- don’t think I’ve ever had one of these before. How do you open it?” he asked sheepishly.
Suzume Fujimori’s POV
Kowai Kurai’s POV
Oh! She didn’t care, of course not. No. She’d never care about anyone or anything.
Everyone was always disgusted by her.
That’s how it always was.
“I want Koda,” she found herself stating mournfully, and then clapped her hand over her mouth. WHAT!? Did she just say such a preposterous thing sincerely? She barely knew that girl! That- that idiot.
The dumbest person she’d ever met.
Why?
Because she actually believes she cares about me.

Femi blushed as Suko looked into his eyes. Duckie?! They sure seemed to like comparing him to animals! And then he winced."Cr-Cruella Di Ville?" he stammered. "Isn't she that-" He felt Suko's nose press up against his and he was abruptly interrupted.
LLAMB??!? SKINNED?
His eyes widened. Did... did... Suko know?
No. They couldn't. Calm down.
He sighed. "Have- you danced before, Suko? I hate to burden you, again. But... I've never done it before. At the school events I-"
Memories flashed in his mind like lightning. He was hiding in the bathroom, washing the blood and tears away from his face... hiding from all the other kids. He hadn't had a date, not even someone to go with him as just a friend.
But then suddenly a hand reached out to him, only to realize-
Wait. That wasn't part of the memory. He came back to reality. It was just Suko.
"I-- I didn't have a date. No one wanted to go with me. I was... I was hiding from all of them. Because they- I-... never mind..." He was shaking.
"Suko... are- you sure you like me? Are you- just taking pity on me? No one has ever... ever-"
A quiet sobbing ensued. Damn it. Couldn't he just keep his calm? Just once?
WHY DID THE PAST ALWAYS HAVE TO RESURFACE?! Why couldn't... why couldn't...
SUZUME FUJIMORI'S POV
Her face immediately brightened. "DEAL! Okay, so... how do we play?" Suzume asked, looking numbly at the control rods. "Do we move these somehow? To do what?"

"This looks like a pretty small, standard one. Good for beginners and casual players. Three rods on each side, one person stands on one side while the other person stands on the other side. Someone will drop a mini ball into the center, and we have to rotate the rods so the players kick the ball into the other team's goal." I demonstrated, dropping the ball in the center and spinning my players to pass the ball around a bit before hitting it into the goal. "Each goal one makes will add to their score, and once the game ends, whoever has the higher score wins."

"Oh?" Hisoka cocked an eyebrow. Makijaruman had caught his attention certainly. Hisoka wanted a witty reply... "I suppose I do have an affect on people. Surprising to see one like yourself, however, brought down to the level of us mere humans."
Hisoka smiled at him. When was the last time a Yamanaku was human, Hisoka...?
Only his sister was. But Hisoka wanted to pretend.
Because Maji was right there, and Hisoka felt that grin under both their masks, both literal and not. An exchange of joy he wanted to protect.
Suko Nobu
Femi kept blubbering and sobbing and going on and on, and trying and trying to apologize-
But all Suko felt was anger.
Who had told Femi to feel like this? Who had dared thought themself too good for a life like this?
"I want to go on a date with you," they assured. "You're my most precious person here. I won't abandon you, all night, okay?" Femi's eyes were still wet with tears. Suko reached, but then hesitated.
Femi's eyes...what colour were they?
They reached in, mystified, trying to classify it. Were they brown? Pink? Red? Was there the same amount of soul in his eyes as in his breathless words?
They were very close. They inhaled sharply, wondering if they should back off, but-
"Hey, um, Femi," they tried. "Do you want to... um..?"
