Suko waited until they were certain she was asleep. Slowly, slowly, they pulled their bag to their chest and fished something out. A few moments later, they had finished, pushing their bag back out.

Femi Davis's POV

[Oh no Femi has decided to become edgy once again so it's time for another weird ambiguous lore flashback that might be explained later]
It was raining. The water came down on the atmosphere in slick, quick droplets. There was a boy standing up on the ground with shaky knees, taking shaky steps towards an alleyway.

He was badly bleeding, and the rain did little to calm his wounds. But he shook at the fear of what he was about to do.

Slowly, he took out the gun. And with tears in his eyes, masked by the rain...

He did what he had to do.

BANG!
[Present Day]
...Femi had made his way into the room. He felt- vulnerable here somehow. He didn't think Megami or Suzume would be likely to hurt him.

And yet... he couldn't let go of that nagging fear. He felt safer, there, locked up in his dorm, alone...

Maybe he needed to calm down. Maybe he needed to...

To try. Curling his hands into fists to try to quell the shaking, he spoke to his dormmates.

"So... um. I guess we're here... hey, guys!"

Suzume Fujimori's POV

Suzume made her way into the room. She was nervous to say the least. Nervous, why?

At the idea of rooming with Megami?

...

But why?

Suddenly, she had an urge. An irrational urge. (Because of shipping reasons or... character development of some kind?)

It seemed she was getting less and less rational by the day. If that was because of Megami...

Shouldn't she stay away from her? She couldn't afford such a thing.

"NO."

She startled herself, by voicing that word out loud. She cupped her hand over her mouth. What?...

Did... the idea of being away from Megami...

Seem that bad?

But... that irrational urge she had.

To talk to Megami about how she felt.

Or how she thought she felt.

Suzume wasn't that great with her own feelings. She preferred to ignore them. They only served to hinder her.

She heard Femi come in and speak. "Yes, I- suppose we are here. Hello, Femi." This felt awkward.

Wait... why was it awkward to also have Femi here? (Because three is a crowd, Suzume 👀)

Femi seemed to slide away in response, with a slight whimper. Had she upset him, somehow?

"Sorry, Femi," she said quickly. "It's just I- reallyneedtotalktoMegamiaboutsomethingthathasbeenonmymindforawhile. Okay?" She said the words so fast they blurred together, which shocked her.

Femi blinked. "U-um... okay." He looked perplexed.

"Megami. There's. Something I-" Deep breaths. Deep breaths. "Something I need to talk to you about."

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai had been pretending to sleep. But she had watched closely (as closely as she could) and listened to Koda and Suko conversing.

Privately, she rolled her eyes about this exchange. How dramatic! And so weird too, honestly... She paused in thought a moment.

But maybe Suko wants something from Koda... and they're trying to get close to her, she reasoned.

That was an idea. Perhaps that had been what had gone on.

...

Was she really just going to lie here, all night? Never having said a word to either of them?

She guessed so. But why had that thought bothered her?

But Kowai Kurai did not sleep. Her eyes remained open wide the whole night.

Blankets muffled a sound that may have been sobbing, or it may have been laughter...

Koda's belly growled. From her dip, she tunneled through the sand, coming back up, clutching two unalived crabs. Koda sat down and ate them, licking her lips.

Patiently, she sat up, gazing at Suko and Kowai, waiting for them to awaken. Noticing she was sandy, she flicked her hair and continued to wait.

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai noticed Koda was up, and decided to pretend to wake up. She yawned loudly, and stretched her arms. "Good morning!! OOH, IS THAT BREAKFAST?" Oh, what the heck. Kowai LEAPED down and grabbed a crab in her mouth.

"Wow ths thngs arrr hrdd to eet!" Kowai exclaimed in a muffled voice with mouth stuffed of crab.

Koda gave a yipping laugh. She shoved her head into the sand, and retrieved another crab. She inspected the shell. "This one will be softer, if you want it." Koda smiled at Kowai, holding it out.

I wonder what Hisoka's problem with Kowai is. She thought, with an internal eye roll.

Kowai Kurai's POV

Kowai blinked and raised her eyebrows, spitting out the crab. A look of some kind... of recognition manifested on her face? Someone was holding something out to her... She smiled at Koda and took the crab from her in her mouth.

Wow, she's already giving me food offerings! She'll be doing me favors in no time! she thought.

Kowai proceeded to consume the softer crab. Her eyes looked wider. "Wow. You're right, that is much better!" She glanced over at Koda with a tilt of her head. "Are you sure you're not the Ultimate Delicious Crab Tiller?"

Koda shrugged jokingly. "Maybeee." Koda's smile became bigger and more passionate.

Koda grabbed another crab, plunging her hand into nearby sand and fishing around. Ow! She winced as she got pinched but didn't show it. She bit into it. "Well... Okay, I'll admit, I'm not good at conversation. Whadya wanna talk about?" Koda asked awkwardly.

"Wow. You're hiding your actual talent?" she joked. Well. Then I wouldn't be the only one, she couldn't help thinking. She noticed Koda got herself snapped by a crab. "Ouch! Oh no, are you okay?" She reached over, only for a crab to jump out and pinch her!

"OW!! GOOD GOSH THAT HURTS!"

Okay but seriously, this thing hurts like a *****!

"Haha... ow. I guess we both have a pinch from a crab now." She smiled slightly at her, her eyes squinty with hurt. ...this better be worth it. Seriously.

The girl watched all the Ultimates, how they socialised with each other. She found that hard. The unnerving feeling that you could be betrayed in one quick moment by these strangers scared her. Chuku was paranoid of all these people- so many opportunities to kill- to blame- to die.

Chuku shuddered, pulling her scarf higher over her face. She traced the green patterns with a tawny finger, watching the birds flock to and fro. She sometimes wished she was a bird, they seemed so free. Chuku imagined spreading her wings, flapping higher and higher into the sky. She could escape all this- if she had wings...

Koda growled at the crab, and bit its pincirs. "No more pinching." She growled teasingly, then eating it. "Meh, if you saw me doing acrobatics you'd know my real talent." Koda gave a shy smile.

Suko Nobu

Every morning Suko woke up was worse than the last. They listened intently. Kowai and Koda... huh? Were they friends? They blinked dizziness out of their head, and pushed against the floor, trying to sit up-

But their hand slipped on the sand and they fell down with a thump .

They barely stifled a yelp. Pain raced down their entire torso. They sucked the inside of the cheek, planting their hand firmly on the ground. Their whole arm shook as they propped themself up.

Koda was smiling? They gasped. "Koda! Have you moved on so quickly?"

Hisoka Yamanaku

Hisoka woke up to a dark room. He felt too well rested. He had not woken up at five. Had the lack of windows thrown him off?

He glanced to the side and rolled right off the bed.

I SLEPT WITH HIM I SLEPT WITH SOMEONE OH MY GOD NO-

Then it occurred to him that it was Majikaruman lying there. Well.

WHY DID I DO THAT OH MY GOD THAT'S EVEN WORSE

Niwa stirred awake.

He was in the same room as Keiki and Chuku.
