Floyd didn't appear to be listening. "Well, I brought someone for you to meet! You two should get along pretty nicely!" He smiled, an enormous one.

He stepped to the side to reveal-

Seara studied her for a moment, then gave a snort and turned away.

"This ball of sunshine," Floyd poked the girl teasingly in the cheek and she made a disgusted noise that he managed to grin at. "Is one of the gardeners. She's been here longer then me, actually! Like, wayyyy longer. Only recently did her sister get in."

Seara turned to stare at Genya. She studied her for a long, uncomfortable moment.

"You're a maid," she stated quietly. "A new one."

Seara shifted stances.

"Why did you bring her here, Floyd?" She sounded... angry.

"Uh, to wait for you, obviously! Why else?"

"That's not the only reason," she responded coldly. "Tell the truth." The two of them stared at one another, Floyd looking vaguely hurt and scared.

"I suppose I'll have to tell the higher ups, then," she grumbled.

He flinched.

"Wait! No! Not yet! I promise I didn't-"

"Silence!"

He stared at his feet.

Seara turned to Genya. "What did you see?" she asked, searching the girl's gaze.

Floyd gulped and promptly took her arm in his, helping Genya to the door.

Seara watched them go, her arms crossed, whole form emanating disappointment.

"Honestly," Floyd whispered. "I was looking for someone else. But then she caught me off duty and I had to think of something. Sorry about all that..."
