Meanwhile, Greg relaxed at the kitchen eating the berries from the garden, "Bocce, I never heard about that game before, I wish I can try it later today, hopefully I can take on Luther and see how amazing the athletics Luther is", Greg said excitedly.
Majoree tore her gaze away and instead gazed out the window, propping up her chin on her hand. It really was a beautiful day. They would've liked it.
Greg left the kitchen and walked straight to the doorway leading to the outside, "Bocce huh? I might see who I am facing in the interesting event, I hope I don't face Carrie", Greg said with a slight glimmer of hope

Meanwhile, Greg headed outside and grabbed some tables to set up the snacks as well as tea and coffee for later this afternoon, "Excellent, all that is left is the coffee and tea, also possibly I can find something to place some snacks", so Greg placed the tables outside and returned inside, he headed to the storage room and found a vintage popcorn machine, "Perfect, this will work perfectly", so Greg took out the vintage popcorn machine and brought it outside. After bringing the popcorn machine, he heard a commotion in the kitchen, Greg raced to the kitchen and he sees Delta, "Hey Delta, there's going to be a bocce event, and if I were you, please control your emotions in a calm manner".
His stance had changed completely. He was now at the defense, instinctively curling back from her, his fists clenched near his stomach. His eyes had become small and shifty, searching her, examining her for a single clue.
"What're you trying to say?" he hissed softly. "Something about your promise to do with mine, maybe?" His eyes narrowed. "You're not... saying we're one in the same, are we? Are you daring to imply that?" The accent had returned. His casual, lenient tone was forever gone. He was just glaring at her.
"You want to be friendly with me?" Fawna's voice piped up in her ear. The person stood, their hair as shaggy as ever, eyes shining with hope, right behind Kaydi. They were smiling their head off. "So... you missed me?"
In the tree, a small bird gave a cry as it fluttered to the ground where it began to peck for worms.
Majoree was sitting outside, kneeling in the grass, gazing off into the distance. There was a quiet, tired light in her red eyes... she closed them-
A face... she was looking for a face... but of who?
Scfhfh. A faint scuffling noise from the grass.
Hm?
She opened her eyes. It was a vole. The small rodent scurried along the yard, turning its little nose this way and that. Majoree got a glimpse of its dark, beady eyes- There was something intelligent in there. Something sly and cunning. She'd never liked voles. Not the way she liked mice.
The rodent continued scampering forward. She watched its every movement. A snuffling at a dandelion- a peering between grass blades-
Suddenly, the creature tripped-
And fell flat on its face.
Majoree laughed.
It whipped upwards.
Their eyes met.
And then it scrambled away, leaving her alone. Majoree watched, her heart in her throat as it disappeared. Come back, she almost wanted to say. This place can be yours. I just want to watch you. I just want to be your friend.
But of course it didn't, and disappeared into the grass in the distance.
Majoree got to her feet, brushing her leggings clean of grass clippings and waited for a few moments, hoping the rodent would come back.
When it didn't, she heaved a sigh and turned around. She had something else to attend. Something more human. Something... less Parsnip.
That was who's face she couldn't see.
Parsnip.
And now it wouldn't go away.
She broke into a run. The gazebo was coming into sight. And... someone else's face. Greg's. Return to the living, she heard a voice whisper. They're dead. Whatever they left with you should be dead too. But it wasn't- she couldn't make it. She fell into a trot as she approached Greg.
"Hey," she called softly. "Getting ready for the match?" She met his eyes, hoping he wouldn't recognize the look in her eyes. Not sadness. Not pain.
Fear.

"I don't want nor need your help," he retorted- then hesitated. "What are you implying?" he asked, a little more quietly. "Is this about your promise? Or are you just trying to get information out of me." He met her gaze, and appeared to be struggling with himself- trying to be finding something.
Meanwhile, Greg made final preparations for the bocce game, "I hope Luther will come soon, but I'm curious why he wanted to have a chat with me", Greg thought
