Floyd jumped and gave a yelp. And then he started laughing. "You probably would. Do you really think you could kill this handsome face, though?" He exaggerated a smug expression and crossed his arms.

The glee on his face dropped. "Live here?" he asked, his voice rising in pitch slightly. "With, the Pokémon?"

There was a slight rustling in the bushes. Floyd glanced up nervously at the sky, where the sun was starting to drop below the noon-mark. "Shouldn't we be hurrying? We have to make it in time, or we'll be spending the night in the bushes..." He swallowed. "And with all the monsters that could be around here..."

Floyd stepped back to allow Zuzu space. He cast one last worried look at the sky, then nodded. "You're right. But try to bring up that I said that to anyone else, and I'm finding a way to unlock my powers, just to scorch your face off."

Floyd laughed. "My power'll be too strong for you to control~" He skidded across a pile of leaves and fell into a steady pace next to them. "Seriously though, I hope to unlock it soon. Yours seems really helpful." He shrugged a bit and ducked under a low-hanging branch. "Magic fire powers? Sign me up."



A short-statured person crept through the forest after the group. She stepped to the side to avoid a branch- and with a crunch of a twig, their location was broadcast to the whole group.

Isla cursed aloud.

A person stepped out of the forest, their face hidden beneath a cloak they had fashioned out of a lab uniform. They lifted up their hood. A sharp face was revealed, with pale, scrutinising green eyes and a firm mouth. The person (lab experiment?) studied them both for a second, then gave a small smile.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you," she stated politely. "Isla Greer. You?" She jerked her head towards Floyd and stared at him expectantly.

"F-Floyd," he stammered. "Uh, are you... one of us?"

Her features visibly twitched, but she managed another smile. "I suppose you could say that." They turned their gaze on Zuzu. "You?" They jerked their head towards him.
