What the heck-" She looked quickly back and forth, then fixed a glare on Olivia. "Did you just kidnap me?"
"Saved your foolish life is more like it."
Brooksook caught sight of the strange (witch? monster?), and her eyes shot open. "Oh! Oh- I-" She fumbled for words. "I don't know how ever to thank you, miss-"
"I'm harbouring a group of criminals," she observed. "Fleeing from the emperor." Her eyes glittered with an unpleasant red light.
"Criminals-? Wha-?" Brooksook glanced back at Olivia and Oona. "Are you two criminals?" Her voice rose to a screech. "But- you're- you're like-"
"I have every reason to turn you all in right now. Don't give me another." As Brooksook gaped like a dead fish, the stranger rose, slipping a hood back over her face. "Stay here. And you-" She cast a glare at Olivia. "You're coming with me." She hooked an arm through Olivia's and tugged her towards the door.
The woman scowled. "Girl," she warned Olivia. "We are going to talk in private. Understood?"
"What're you going to do to me?" Brooksook scrunched up the folds of her dress in her hands. "If you touch a hair on my head... the- the Emperor's Coven will-" Despite the show of bravery, her lip was trembling. She looked stiffly away. "You won't like what will happen if you try and harm me."
Once they were out of earshot of those inside the shack, the stranger released Olivia's arm. "You, my girl, are going to explain to me why exactly you are fleeing the Emperor's Coven. And exactly the identity of all the strangers you have brought into my house."
She didn't give her a chance to reply to that. "If I told you I was a member of the Emperor's Coven, how would you react?" She cupped her cheek, eyeing Olivia. "Would you be angry? Hate me?"
Brooksook glared at her, despite how she was trembling all over. "What do you want?" she demanded.
Paisley: *Worried fox beep sounds*
Olivia: Only if you were like the rest of them. Aggressive, controlling, willing to hurt people. *Trusting look* But you seem nicer than all of them! I feel like I can trust you. *Smile*
Olivia: Also, 'we' as in me, Brook, and my sister.
She turned away from Olivia. "Go inside, see your sister and friend. I am to leave- I will return by morning. I will allow you to stay the night, and then I will send you all away. There are people even I do not wish to oppose."
"Get better? Are you serious?" Brooksook grabbed her shaking arms. "What're you talking about? You kidnapped me! I was- I was at Hexside... and now you and- and that freak are going to- what're you bringing me here for? Experiments?"
Olivia: EVERYONE QUIET DOWN IN THERE!
Olivia: *Smiles at the stranger as she leaves*
Olivia: *Walks back inside* All right, let's get some sleep! Especially Brooksook, I think she needs it.
*Oona and Olivia and their Palismen go to sleep*
Even if her legs were too weak to stand up, she needed to be ready to fight. Anything that happened.. an argument, a route, even connections could be enough for her to escape.
"Hopefully soon," she mumbled aloud.
Olivia: Good morning, everyone!
Oona: I've been up since 4 am (Rubs eyes) My wi-
Oona, whispering: My wings kept waking me up, it was so annoying.
Olivia, whispering: I did some research.
Olivia, no longer whispering: I wonder where that stranger went...
A knock came at the door. Before anyone had the time to answer, the stranger breezed in.
"Wait, wait, hold on- Are you not with them?" Brooksook had woken up while Olivia and Oona were speaking. Now, her eyes glittered with hope. "Because I'm not either- do you think you could help me get back to Hexsi-"
"No." She turned away and vanished into the other room.
Alex: *Changes into staff form and Olivia gets on*
Oona: Right!
Paisley: *Also changes to staff form as Oona gets on*
Oona: You coming, Brook? I don't think you'd want to be alone in here...
"Ow!" She kicked herself free and staggered up to them. "Okay! Okay! We're going!" The evil look in her eye said that if anyone dared to point out her war with the blanket, then she'd bury them six feet under.
