"N-n-never mind. I'd rather not bug you. S-Sorry!" Just
like that, she darted off, outside, tripping on the way there and
skinning her knee. She just got right back up again and ran, and
ran... "GRRRRROWRG." May paled. So this was... th-this was
Grom.
Clarke's POV
Clarke snickered. Perfect! A victim! Now, he just had to
wait until the monster transformed into her fears... AND MAKE IT
LOOK WORSE!!
Agnes's POV
Agnes ran into the hallways, puffing and panting.
"Warning!" she gasped. "Warning! Need- need tell! Tell monarch!"
She glanced at Toshiko. "Seen? Seen?" she asked frantically,
grabbing Toshiko's shoulders and shaking them. "Need
tell!"
Waylon's POV
Waylon pondered to himself if he should go outside or not.
I mean, come on, it's not like Maylee was getting herself into a
bad situation out there, right?
Deena's POV
"Not Deena" walked into the school, and gulped. This was a
bad idea. Still, they had to have food in here... they'd just take
some, run. Got it. No, no, no! They had to remain undercover until
the event was over! UGH! Okay. Just- be cool. Deena headed into the
gym, and began silently partaking in some of the food. Think I'm
a teacher, think I'm a teacher!
NPC Teacher's POV
NPC Teacher made their way into the gym, and grabbed a
microphone, tapped it to test, and- "Attention, students! May
"Maylee" Lakes is going to fight the infamous Grom! Does anyone
want to come out and watch? Grab the popcorn!" Man, I really
need a day off. I'm tired of saying these words that I'm reading
off these "Teaching for Dummies" cards.
Deena put their finger over Olivia's mouth. "BE QUIET!"
they hiss-whispered. "You're going to blow our cover! I'm just here
to get some food, we get out of here unnoticed, easy victory. Maybe
you should go hide behind a plant or something. Or don these fake
pointed ears." They handed the fakes to Olivia with a sigh. Why,
oh, why did I bring this human along?
Toshiko stared at her blankly. "Right. Nice talk." As Agnes
approached, Toshiko smiled and waved. And then gasped. "Hey what
the he-" She tore herself free. "Who? What on Earth are you talking
about?"
Brooksook giggled, dancing with Zuzu. She gazed up at the lights.
Everything was so beautiful. It was so perfect. And her date... she
eyed her out of the corner of her eye. Everything's so
perfect.
to be aesthetic or not to be aesthetic
that is not a question because I am not aesthetic at all and nor is
this signature
"GROM QUEEN!" she sputtered. "Need warning!" Her eyes were
wide and pleading. "Where? WHERE?"
Maylee's POV
Maylee tossed a potion in the direction of the Grom
monster, it missed, and shattered on the ground. She winced. The
creature grabbed her, and flung her up into the air. OH NO.
NONONONONO! NOT HEIGHTS! C-CALM DOWN, CALM DOWN! She drew a
spell circle, and carefully lowered herself to the ground. The
monster swung again, and May slashed at it with her katana. She
kept slashing at it. "C-C-Come on, COME ON!" she stuttered in
frustration. The weapon felt flimsy in her hands, and she couldn't
even hit it once! What were they thinking, trusting her with this?
The monster threw... spears. N-N-NOT POINTED
OBJECTS!! Maylee hopped onto her Palisman, and did her best to
dodge... but two of the spears struck, and she splattered to the
ground. She barely rolled away, injured and groaning... This
thing... that- that wasn't even my greatest fear! It's- just toying
with me. And I'm already losing...
Clarke's POV
Clarke frowned in dissatisfaction. Not his greatest work-
making it seem like she'd been raised to a higher height had done
nothing to scare her more, and the fact he made it seem like the
monster threw more spears didn't seem to be helping either! This
was BORING!
NPC Teacher's POV
"And here we have May Lakes, folks, struggling to take down
the beast! It looks like she's failing! Could the pressure be too
much for our new Grom Queen?"
Waylon's POV
Waylon flinched. Oh no. Maylee was in trouble? AGAIN? Why
was he even surprised? Maybe if things got ugly, he could help...
no. She had to do this alone, he decided. He'd go outside to watch,
maybe help if he had to. He had this strange feeling that somehow,
she might be able to do it.
Deena's POV
Deena snickered. The perfect opportunity to take food! They
began to grab as much as they could carry. Perfect.
Deena sighed. "Shh! Don't say that after sneezing. There is
nothing suspicious about sneezing, unless you make it suspicious.
We're supposed to blend in, act like we're supposed to be
here!"
