Nemiru began to search the library for the historical section.
Looking back to Pledge as he searched. "So, do you know which coven
you're going to join? It can't be an easy decision to consider
since your multi-tracking." Heading towards the non fiction
section, Nemiru paused, seeing fresh chalk on the sign with a piece
of paper underneath reading 'DO NOT ERASE.'
He gave a soft snort before continuing down the section. "I mean, I
guess it would be as difficult a decision as for the rest of us in
just one track, but I mean, we tend to fall back onto our track
when picking which coven to join."
"I haven't seen that paper there before. I'm guessing some kids
decided to try and be funny by messing around with the signs."
Bemiru said with the slight shake of his head. Finally he reached
the honestly rather small history section. After Belos took over as
emperor, any books concerning the wild ages were destroyed and
replaced by more accurate depictions supposedly. Regardless, it
still left the history section with a terrible selection of titles.
Scanning the row of books he gave a small huff. None of them
sounded like anything he was looking for. Actually, most of these
books still appeared to be newly published. Stepping back from the
bookcase, Nemiru turned to Pledge.
"You happen to know where I could find any older books?"
"I'm not sure." Pledge started, casting a spell circle to enhance
her hearing. "Maybe someone else around here is talking about it
right this second.."
"With how much this whole event has blown up? I don't doubt it."
Nemiru said, watching as she cast the circle. He was hadn't noticed
any direct change, so maybe rather from summoning a beast or
altering any terrain it impacted the caster in some way. He gave a
soft hum as he thought about it, the pieces slowly falling into
place. Perhaps some spell to amplify hearing? How interesting, he
wondered if it was a beastkeeping or healing spell.
Pledge listened to the other students conversations, maybe she
could even pick up a time coven member? As she listened most of
them were about where the time coven would attack next or the
attack at Hexside. Those talking about the next attack was
predicting either other magical schools or somewere much public.
One student was saying the library might be next, maybe to force
books in there.
"Nope, only time coven talk." Pledge started, ending her hearing
spell.
Nemiru gave a small hum. "Yeah, I guess that would make sense." He
made his way out of the library, hearing hushed whispers about the
time coven. Once he exited the building, he began to search the
woods for a place he had commonly traveled. He wasn't quite sure if
Pledge was following him, but he somewhat hoped she was. It would
probably be best to have someone around in case things went
wrong.
Coming to a halt in a small clearing, Nemiru summoned his lyre,
playing a few notes and watching as the trees bent as to form a
small circle around the clearing the branches interlocking to keep
them in place. Hopefully they would he able to hide any prying
eyes.
Pledge's little dragon had followed Nemiru again, making small cute
dragon noises.
Pledge had caught up to her pet dragon and picked him up "You can't
run off again, no, bad dragon." She watched her small dragon
wriggle in her hands before flying back to her shoulder.
Nemiru chuckled softly at the dragon's antics, before drawing a
circle and letting his lyre vanish to... wherever it went. "I...
don't know if this will actually do anything., He started, turning
to look at Pledge, "but I was thinking that maybe I could try and
find a way to figure out the Time coven's magic. If I try and think
through the spells I know I can maybe use that information to try
and replicate the spells they cast."
He wasn't sure how he could expand on the explanation any more and
he hoped he successfully got his message across. Softly biting his
lip, Nemiru drew a circle in the air, the spell circle a orangish
color. He remembered how it felt to get slowed down in time, trying
to compare the experience to his bard magic. Bard magic was mostly
about controlling am environment, but it could be used on people as
well, the same could probably go for the time magic.
"I still find it weird how a coven that was banned many years ago
decided now was a good time to strike." Pledge mentioned, noticing
the griffin's presence again "Oh it's you again? You've been
following me since the time coven huh?"
