Jackie heard Lin's voice, and froze. She pretended to not hear her,
as bad memories flowed through her head. She continued to smoke
while laying against the tree.
"I.." Jackie mumbled. "S-Sorry.." she said. "I didn't want to hurt
anyone, or your sister, but I just-..I couldn't-...I'm sorry, I
don't have the words.." Jackie said, holding back tears.
Adrik flushed a little and started sputtering. "I-I- I wi- I
could-" His face was growing redder by the second for some strange
reason. "I will!" he blurted out. "I will, and I'll uh- kick-
your.... ass...." he trailed off. "Uh."

"Uh- who are you?" Adrik asked nervously. He didn't like it-
everyone seemed to know him, and he hardly seemed to know anyone at
all! And Kaden- he quickly wiped his expression from his face,
hoping that the boy hadn't seen it. "And how do you know my name?"
he added.

"That doesn't matter. You sir, are extremely bad at
relationships."
Alexis sighed.
"Thar boy over there is your boyfriend, right?"
He pointed.
"He's made several obvious moves to increase your relationship with
him....but you just...shun him away. I don't know man...if I was
that kid- I wouldn't feel happy in this relationship."
He frowned.
"He probably likes you a lot. And I mean a lot. How does he put up
with this?"
There was something in Adrik's eyes at that. His shoulders visibly
slumped. "Uh... I still don't know you," he mumbled, avoiding eye
contact. But his gaze darted up once, studying the other's face
intently, then back down.
