~St Venti's School for the Magically Gifted~
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Private RP → ~St Venti's School for the Magically Gifted~Off in another room, Isla sat, staring straight at a wall. The puppet gripped to the fabric of her shoulder, singing its own twisted lullaby's into Isla's ears.
"♩The blood will pour and the cliffs will fall, but believe me, o isla... this land will remain safe~ o islaaa~♩"
She listened to it hum different tunes and try different sounds. "That one reminds me of mother," she said finally. The puppet's grip grew tighter. "She... named me Isla. After... our home," she finished awkwardly. "She was the patriotic sort..."
"I see." The puppet didn't elaborate. Isla took this as a hint that the puppet didn't want to hear any more.
But she had to go on. "I miss her, sometimes-" her voice cracked. "But... she doesn't miss me. She couldn't."
The words just kept flowing out her mouth, but she couldn't stop them at this point. "It's been too many years and she probably hates me and I don't remember how she loo-"
"Isla. Stop." The puppet's voice was low, dangerous.
Isla fell silent. Then she spoke again, "You're right. Getting too emotional, huh?" She laughed a little brokenly. "I wonder what happened to her, down there."
The puppet's grip tightened and she cut the thought process off. "I wonder what Kaden thinks of me."
"Thinking a lot about people lately, huh?"
"He hates me, certainly. I wonder if I hate him?"
"Isla. None of that matters."
"But it does. To me, I mean-" Isla's vision blurred. Was the puppet in front of her, or still on her shoulder? She couldn't tell anymore. "I'm scared." For the first time she voiced it.
And everything shattered.
"I'm scared," she repeated. "I'm scared. I'm... terrified." Tears began to dribble down her cheeks.
The puppet was saying her name. She couldn't hear him. She couldn't hear Arius.
"I can't stop it- I can't- no matter what I do, it just pours through-"
Arius' eyes glowed red.
And Isla's head dropped.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I..."
"This school hasn't been good for you."
"No..." Melancholy. That boy, Adrik. Jackie. And... Kaden. All their faces flashed before her eyes. Too many faces. It just had to be two. She just had to know two.
"We should leave. Resign."
"We should leave. Resign," she repeated back.
"And why's that?"
Kaden's face flashed behind her eyes. And she knew exactly why. "Because... I'm starting to love them. And... I shouldn't."
"Why?"
"Because I need to beat them."
"I will give you one last chance, Isla," Arius said, his button eyes glinting off the light of the dim bulb that was fixed in the center of the ceiling. "One last chance to stay here. One last chance to better both our lives."
"One last chance," she echoed. "One last chance."
She couldn't take it. She couldn't do it. She knew right now, at the bottom of her heart, that if she truly agreed with Arius, she would refuse.
"I want to stay here," Isla replied. The faces flashed before her eyes. "I can't leave. Not yet."
The puppet dropped into her pack without another word.
But his previous words echoed in her mind. One last chance. One last chance.
How could she trick the only person who understood her? How could she win?
The answer was there. She just had to find it.
Isla sat up and waited for her roommate to come. "Sakura", whoever she was, was sure to enter her dorm soon.
His symbols flashed scarlet, as he grimaced.

"No. This isn't true. Stop lying!" Screamed Genya.
The figure sighed.
Genya, I was there, talking to him. I saw it. Heard it. Everything.
Genya shook her head repeatedly.
"Stop! Aleko wouldn't do such a thing! After all that happened....no. I will not believe you. You're just trying to torture me again. This isn't one of your games."
Genya! Listen! I would not lie. I swear, that's what happened.
Aleko.
He left you. Bleeding all alone.
He didn't care.
"NO! I will-will not tolerate this! You have to stop
Aleko would never do this."
The figure stepped forward.
Genya, this isn't going to work.
Me, you.
You have to comprehend, that I am you, and you are me.
Stop separating your personality.
I am not the bad one.
I am only you.
I....know the truth.
You know it too.
You are just denying it, aren't you, Genya?
Letting your heart make the decisions instead of your head.
What did I say...what we said.
Emotions...corrupt.
You know that. I do. Stop denying it.
You're too good for Aleko, Genya. He left you alone. Now what are you doing? Kneeling beside him, weeping over his body.
Pathetic.
Genya screamed.
"STOP IT! JUST GET OUT OF MY HEAD. GET OUT!"
The figure slumped down.
Get out of my head....
My head.....
Didn't you tell Aleko that, Genya?
It tilted its head towards her.
Genya opened her mouth to speak, but no voice came out.
She took a step back.
Genya.
This is too much.
You're going mental.
All of this?
In your head.
Genya sat down.
"Would....
Did....
Aleko....
He did leave me...did he...."
The figure nodded slowly.
Genya's features sagged.
Her shoulders slumped down.
"Wait.
No.
He wouldn't.
After all we've done.
Together."
She stood up, eyes flashing with anger.
"He.
Would never.
Do.
This.
.....
You know what?
I hate you."
The figure's eyes widened.
"You've never helped me with anything.
Always told me the worst.
Always....such a pessimist.
Always ruined everything."
Listen to yourself.
Emotions, remember?
Use your head, Genya.
Please.
Genya paused.
............
.......................
"No."
Alexander stirred, at last, lying on the bed. His mouth appeared to form words, but nothing escaped. "Nhhgh?" His eyes opened.
"Aleko?
Are you okay?
.....
Oh my gosh.
Please be okay."
--------------------------
Lin shrugged.
"I dunno. I'm in a murderous mood. Maybe kill someone and eat their raw meat? No? Maybe....drink their blood?"
She laughed.
"Nah, I'm just joking with you. I'm not sure...I've been at this school for a while but...it's kind of boring when you're a loner."
Adrik's face had gone ghostly white. "Er, yes. Jokes. Ahahah." He laughed nervously. "So, you don't drink blood? Or eat meat? You just act like you will?"
His brow furrowed. "I... do," he said slowly. "But at the risk of sounding cliché... Who am I?"
"Well, uh, this conversation has been very enlightening." Adrik reached for the knob. "But I kind of have to... do something now."
"I don't know you, then," Alexander replied. "I mistook you for someone else." He sat up in bed and glanced around. "Where... am I?"
Being new and not knowing anyone was a little nerve wracking but she took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Don't worry, she thought. You deserve to be here.
As she walked along the cooridor, she heard the sound of screaming somewhere in the distance. Anwen promptly decided to not pay any attention to it and instead fixed her sweater vest and continued waking down the hallway, looking for the dorms.
And crashed into Anwen.
They staggered back several steps. Their eyes lit up with anger.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" They snapped, adjusting their necklace. "You almost knocked me over!"
A tear ran down her cheek.
......
"Y-you....don't think we're friends?.....don't you remember about the lake?....about..."
She held a hand to her mouth.
------------------------------
Lin sighed.
"No it's fine.
My therapist told me not to make others upset.
And not to wallow in my sadness.
I'm sorry."
Adrik was quiet a bit. He walked up to his bed and began to unpack. At last, as he emptied his backpack, then he leaned against the wall and watched her. "You have a therapist?"
Well that was agresiv Anwen thought Beep breathes
"But i wasn't even the one that bumped into you, you did that." She said on a passive aggressive tone and raised an eyebrow
"Yup.
Ever since my sister's murder-
And my boyfriend breaking my heart-
I've needed someone to talk too."
------------------
Genga nodded and quietly handed him some water.
Her own head wound oozed fresh blood, but she took no notice.
Tears silently poured down her face.
"I see." Adrik looked at his hands. They were shaking slightly. "I'm... sorry."
"Thanks." He took the water and began to sip it. He placed it down after he was finished and tilted his head to the side. "You're hurt," he said simply. He handed the water to her.
