RP Sign-up's here!
After a war that lasted centuries, the land began to crumble. As the years went by, the earth wasted, bit by bit, until nothing was left. Apart from you and few others, scattered around the desolate wasteland. Barely surviving in the place we call The Dead Land. Many have formed alliances that failed and many are alone, desperate to survive, because here...well...it's the survival of the fittest...

RP starts now...

(If I accidentally call my character Lin, please forgive me. I'm also doing another RP in which I have a character called Lin.)

Dragging her Katana along the cracked floor, the sun shone on the blade, revealing the words: αργυρά είδη (Silver). Artemis lifted her trusted blade and continued to search through the abandoned building. Glass shards seemed to litter the floor, adding to the carpet of debris and dust. Black smoke billowed from a nearby house and she sighed. Another fire. Artemis looked around the room one last time and quickly exited it. A large metal fridge laying abandoned on the road. She kicked it and it swung open, revealing some canned goods. Artemis breathed a sigh of relief. She quickly put them in her battered rucksack and walked back home, an abandoned shopping mall.

(Nice details and can I ask questions in pal pad?)

Harry put his mask on his face to hide his identity. “I should get out of my house to get more food.” Light takes a deep breath and goes outside. He looks at the rust and fire on buildings and on cars. “I can’t believe the world has gone to this” Harry tries to think of places that has clothing and food. “I can’t go to the mall. It might collapse.” Light chooses to go there anyways. “I don’t have a vehicle so I guess I should just walk.” Harry begins to walk. (He will take a Long time to walk over to the place you are at because he is 20 minutes away)

Coby rummaged through a half-empty trash bin to see if he could find any good food to purify. He had created a device that cleaned any food in a matter of minutes, and he wanted to test it out. Plus, he was pretty hungry. Not finding anything, he decided to scrounge through some stores. There was an abandoned shopping mall about a 40 minute walk south of here, and there must be tons of food inside of there! Sure, it might all be expired, but that was what the device was for! He decided to, instead of going to the mall, find a grocery store to steal from. Being the only one left alive in this awful place (he assumed), he didn't consider it 'stealing', but it did feel a little wrong. However, he had no other way of gathering food, so he started off in the direction of his local convenience store, hoping it would be at least slightly intact.

He had been hearing strange noises for the past week or so that did not sound like anything he had ever heard before, especially since he hadn't heard many sounds of life, and it gave him the chills every single time. Smoke billowed from countless buildings as they crumbled, ruined houses and once powerful companies falling alike, all slowly fading away to nature and its horrible consequences of our horrible actions. Coby eventually spotted the store he was looking for and let out a happy noise, running forwards to reach it. Half of the building had crumbled away, revealing the near-destroyed inside of the store, but most of the food still looked salvageable. Grabbing a rusted shopping cart that was missing 3/4 of its wheels, Coby ran through the store, grabbing everything he could find, finally hopeful he wouldn't starve. After finding everything he needed, he left quickly, eager to escape that place. Not much could survive out here, and most of the creepy-crawlies he was scared of had long since gone extinct, but he still felt uneasy about such big buildings.

As he made his way through the ruined town, one of the only surviving places anything could live on this planet, he struggled to keep his cart from falling over. He eventually got it about halfway through the town before he forgot where he was going, and had to regain his sense of direction. His home was set inside of a dead tree, he had built it himself and it was wired with lots of different gadgets to make it more fun and accessible for him and anyone he chooses to allow in. If anyone wanted to get in, but he didn't know if anyone else even survived the Fall, or if there was anyone else living in this trash heap. He soon figured out which way he needed to go and started off again, struggling through the crumbling town with his crappy cart.

Suddenly, Coby heard a shrill, loud, almost hollow sound, ringing out against the still air and reverberating through the buildings, sending a chill down his spine. What was that? Nothing could have survived out here, could it? Where did it come from? There was no way anything else had survived, it was a miracle he had survived this long himself. Had he simply imagined it? Then he heard it again, that same sharp, hollow sound that rang out across the area, sending fear striking through his mind. He grabbed the dagger that he had made from cutting down a rock into a sharp edge and held it out in front of him shakily, fear and panic grasping at his chest. The shrill, sharp barking sound continued, becoming more frequent yet still inconsistent, and gradually growing closer by the heartbeat. Soon, a creature's figure emerged from over a pile of rubble, leaping through the ruins and rushing towards him, making that loud and hollow sound. When Coby recognized the animal he was so shocked he nearly dropped his dagger.

It was a dog.

The dog looked to be a blue heeler in breed, and was barreling towards him at an astounding pace, yet it didn't look threatening, but more... friendly. Coby put his dagger away and braced for impact as the dog jumped up at him, knocking him back onto the ground and wagging its tail, licking his face enthusiastically. Just then, Coby heard a voice.

"Arrow, off."

The dog immediately perked its head up and clambered off of him, still wagging its tail and panting heavily. Coby stood up and brushed himself off, wiping dog slobber off of his face. As he looked up and around for the voice, he saw something that made his heart leap into his throat. He knew where the voice had come from.

It was another human.

He wasn't alone.

Yes, any questions can be PM'ed to me, I don't like to use PalPad that much (for reasons that I won't state).

Artemis walked upstairs to the clothes store in the shopping mall she lived in. Opening her battered satchel, a torrent of canned goods cascaded out of the rugged bag. Artemis breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, good food. With her trusty knife, which was called Χρυσός (Gold), she cut a whole in a tin labelled, "Peaches" and scooped the fruit out with her hands, the sweet taste bursting on her tongue. Putting the rest of the cans in a hidden box, Artemis stood up and went to her makeshift house, overcome with fatigue after today's excursions. Pulling the patchwork quilt over her, she thought of the other survivors out there in the world, and if any were near her. Artemis stared at her knife and katana, longing for her parents. A feeling of cold dread crept up on her, enveloping her like a blanket and swaddling her with misery and regret. Something was going to happen...

Gino stared down the newcomer, their eyes boring into their skull, trying to sense what they were doing. Arrow, Gino’s dog, certainly seemed to like them. Eventually, they stepped forwards and offered out a hand in greeting. “Hello. My name is Gino, I use they/them pronouns. How about you?”

The other person spoke, their voice shaky and unsure, yet still strong in volume. “My name is Coby, and I use he/him. What’s your dog’s name?” He asked.
Gino glanced down at Arrow, who was wagging his tail excitedly. Giving him a gentle pat, they replied, “His name is Arrow. What are you doing with that cart of food? You are aware most of it is expired, yes?”
The boy, Coby, nodded. “I know, but I made a new device that’s supposed to make any food edible again, even after it’s gone bad.”
Gino noticed that Coby made lots of hand gestures when he spoke. Was that a thing that people from this time did? Maybe they should do it more often. Seeing as they were stuck here for the time being, they may as well make an effort to fit in. Giving a nod to signify their understanding, Gino responded with, “That’s nice. So you’re an inventor, then?”
Coby hesitated for a moment before replying. “I guess you could say that. I’m more of an engineer, I enjoy building and fixing things, and I’ve been working on a specific little project for a few months now, but that’s besides the point. I’ve been making and fixing plenty of things to help me survive in this apocalyptic wasteland, including appliances and housing systems. I can take you to my base to show you if you’d like!”

Gino would very much like to visit this person’s ‘base’, but they were unsure if they should trust him. They had not received much time to explore this generation’s new… everything before the end of the world, and now they needed to catch up with what they knew in order to survive. They decided it wouldn’t hurt, at least not too much, and agreed. “Alright, sure. Just no betrayals. Lead the way, Coby.” Making a little clicking noise with their tongue to get Arrow to follow, Gino headed off behind an excited Coby, ready to start fresh with this whole socializing thing. They seemed to have gotten it down pretty well, despite this timeline having very few other humans as it seems. Arrow ran ahead a lot and sniffed everything, his tail swishing through the air in excitement as he experienced everything. Coby struggled across the wrecked landscape, through the rubble-filled roads with his strange-looking shopping cart filled with assorted foods.

“My base is just on the other side of town, we’ll be there lickity-split!” he reassured Gino. Gino could tell he was getting a little awkward, but they were fine with a little hike. It wasn’t too hot or cold outside and they hadn’t been on this part of town before. Just as they turned a corner, rounding on a fresh set of broken houses, Gino heard a squelching sort of noise that seemed to call out with a song-like melody. It immediately sent shivers across their back and they raised their staff, halting their footsteps and gazing around, attempting to spot the source of the noise. Coby appeared to have heard it as well, and he pulled out a pathetic-looking dagger with shaky hands. Arrow stopped prancing around and lifted his ears, a low growl forming in his throat. Just as Gino was about to brush it off and have them continue marching onward, a giant, slimy purple beast squelched around the road and spied them, its facial features immediately narrowing with a hostile snarl. It was large and purple, its entire body covered in a dripping, squishy goo. Its face was half made up of rocks and sludge, and it held a gigantic hammer in its left arm. It approached them with astonishing speed, obviously not there for a hug, and Coby screamed what they were all thinking.

“RUN!!!”

Letting out a sharp whistle that cut through the air like a sword to call Arrow, Gino turned tail and ran the opposite direction. “There’s a shopping mall we can take cover in just over this building! Follow me!” they shouted over their shoulder at Coby, who didn’t seem to be doing a very good job of keeping up with them. Arrow pulled ahead of the duo, barking to get the monster’s attention, and veered over to the left, bringing it off of their track and buying them time. Gino muttered ”Good boy,” under their breath as they continued pushing onwards, forcing their legs to carry them faster, coming to the ruined building and immediately throwing themself at it, climbing over the crumbling walls and broken stone. Reaching the top, they turned backwards to help Coby up the rest of the way. Pulling up their new friend, they gazed out over the city, quickly spotting the large shopping mall and nodding towards it, barely registering the nod they received from Coby as they leapt down the ruins, soon reaching the bottom and letting loose another sharp whistle to call Arrow back before sprinting in the direction of the large span of connected stores that was the city shopping mall. Not even bothering to check if Coby was following, they let their legs take over as they pushed harder and farther into the midst of the wrecked city, everything either dirty, broken, on fire, or some mix of the three. With a final push, Gino rounded the final corner and spotted the ruined shopping mall, hope lighting up their heart and spreading a smile across their features. Running as fast as they can and hearing the monster roar, they jumped inside of a rough hole in the wall and finally looked back. Their heart sank like a stone when they noticed that Coby nor Arrow were anywhere in sight, but it soon fluttered back up with joy as Coby fell around the corner with a stoic dog in tow. Yes, Coby literally fell around the corner and, looking around wildly, soon spotted Gino from inside the mall and scrambled up off the ground, sprinting towards them. Diving inside and pulling Arrow in after him, the three of them quietly snuck away to find a place to hide. Taking cover in a candy store that had long since been emptied and abandoned, the sign nothing but an empty void of once-neon letters, they heard the stomping squelch of the monster’s footsteps gradually fade from hearing range. Believing themselves to be safe, Gino and then Coby (with Arrow) stepped out of their hiding place and looked around cautiously. Finding no threats in the area, they decided to explore, taking advantage of the situation to find some new foods to go back to Coby’s base and experiment with, as they had to leave the shopping cart when they were running for their lives.

(yes, this is when Artemis can find them, but whenever you want)

Matt walked between the broken buildings. He already stocked up on food but he wanted to be safe so he was hunting for people who had some food to steal from. He was playing poor today and pretended to cry.Matt was always a good actor but was never praised for his ability. He used his sadness from failed into his cry. He muffled it with a rag for good measure. He remembered what his past was like. Ever since the incident occurred,Matt had been trying to survive. His heart was filled with sorrow from the loss of his family. Now he has to survive on his own trying this time and this is not a lie. He faked a trip and made his fake cry even louder. He had to survive he couldn’t let his families last act go in vain. He still remembers the day they saved him by sacrificing their selves to let him escape the assassins. “Run!”his mother said to him “Please, just run!”. That day he swore to kill ever single assassin he came across that was involved in the killing. Matt got up. He was going to finish his goal and not let them go to shame. He would let his family become the strongest family ever. It would all start here. Matt promised to let his family name be the strongest. No one would stop him he would win. He was left alone and beat up but, those actions did not define him.

Artemis heard a loud CRASH and people's voices near the Mall. She rushed out the store, dagger in one hand and her Katana in the other. Wind whipped through her chocolate-coloured hair as she peered at the two young men in front of the shopping centre. She stayed where she was, behind a large, broken box until she took a deep breath and stood up. Using the same commanding voice her father always had, she boomed "Who are you!?". She gripped her Katana tightly, she didn't know if these two people were trustworthy. The sun peeked out of the clouds, illuminating Artemis' beautiful yet stern face as she peered at the pair closely.

Coby yelped and nearly tripped and fell backwards at the sudden appearance of the girl. Barely even registering that it was another human, he regained his footing and took a closer look at her. She was holding a Katana. He noticed Gino appearing completely calm, they had not taken out their spear nor made themselves look threatening in any way. They spoke up, addressing the girl, in a tone that soothed Coby’s racing heart. “I apologize for intruding, but we simply came here to take cover from a monster that had been chasing us. The monster has disappeared, but we wanted to explore this place a bit more. If you wish for us to leave, we will do so without hesitation. May I get your name first, though?”

They had spoken with such certainty and confidence, yet their voice was entirely even and calmed. Coby was more than impressed, and he wished he could do that, but his voice had developed an uncertainty and shakiness to it ever since he went a little crazy. He straightened himself and fixed his posture, attempting to appear as non-threatening as possible in order to ease the girl’s concerns, but his hands still trembled, both from the sudden scare and also just being chased within an inch of his life. Arrow was standing obediently at Gino’s side, but Coby could tell he wanted to run up and greet the newcomer, for his tail was wiggling and he was trembling in excitement, almost as much as Coby’s hands.

Artemis was taken aback for a moment. "A monster?" she asked, shocked. She hadn't seen one for ages. "Name's Artemis, Artemis Mizayaki," she said loudly. (Sorry for the REALLY short post xP)

Ánscuro was biking to his old house for about 3 weeks know, but he doesn't remember the directions but knows the location. He found a gps in a broken done car, so he took it. He is going to his house for some books, when the war was going downhill Ánscuro put construction books, survival books, pickaxe, axe and a sword underground. Then put a rock over it so he wouldn't lose the spot. He also put a shovel in a shed which seems broken down. He went to the shed and took the shovel then he started looking for the rock. He spots the rock and it seems pretty intact so he pushed it and started digging, but he underestimated how far he dug down, He was digging for a couple of hours but he found everything and it was already in a hiking bag, so he put is shovel next to the pickaxe and started to go to his bike and was looking for nice place to settle down.
