Its the Second of September 2016, which is the first academic day of the new session at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
Suvansh and Aurora are both Second Year Gryffindors. Suvansh has been at Hogwarts since his first year, but Aurora is a new admission to the school.

Suvansh wakes up as excited as he did exactly a year ago. It had been months since he attended any Hogwarts class, and couldn't wait to do so again. He woke up at time, and grabbed a quick breakfast before moving towards his first class of the year, which was charms, whose classroom was situated in the third floor. He reached there and took a seat before anyone else was there, and just starting going through his new book, even though he had already read the same thrice already.

"Ooh look, there's a new girl!" the whispers came from all around as Aurora Scammander made her way towards the charms classroom, when she knocked on the wall, the professor invited her in. Aurora looks around, surprised when she sees someone already in the classroom. She had wanted to come slightly early, just so she can properly introduce herself to the teacher.

Suvansh looks up from his book as Professor Flitwick enters the classroom shortly after he did, with great pleasure. Charms was actually one of his favorite classes.
Not much later, he heard a knock on the door. Suvansh was surprized as there was still about 30 minutes to go for the class to start, but well, how could he suppose that he is the only early bird?
As the door opened and Aurora entered the classroom, some sensation went through Suvansh. So is this the new girl everyone was talking about? He shot her a quick glance, but when he saw her return the look, he quickly looked away, before going back to reading, which probably would've looked awkward to any onlookers. Something... attracted him towards her. He wanted to give her another peak, but more students started herding into the classroom shortly after, and he just put down his book and started to get ready for the class.

Aurora introduces herself to the professor and takes a seat beside Suvansh, where she had been directed too. What it comes to to introduce herself to the whole class. "My name... is Aurora Scammander." she says. "Like that guy who wrote that one book?" a dim looking kid asks from the back. Aurora gives them a long look. "Daughter of the writer of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." she says, to clarify. Her hair slowly fades to a elegant looking black.

When Aurora came and sit beside Suvansh, he almost jerked aside, as if wanting to create more space between the two. It was just instinctive, which he does just in case someone won't be comfortable by the proximity. Aurora. Aurora Scamander, the daughter of none other than Newt Scamander! But how was it possible? She was...the same age as him, but Newt lived almost a century ago! How...would be a question for later. For now, her name resounded in his mind, as did how she changed her hair colour swiftly, without even casting a spell! That was, just brilliant. A metamorphmagus, wasn't it? He probably stared for a second too long, because as Aurora sat and looked towards him, she let out a giggle. Was there something on his face, or just his behavior? He wondered.

"Yes, I am a Metamorphagus." she answers, laughing a little at his expression. Aurora wrinkles her nose in an attempt to stop laughing. Her hair turns auburn. She runs her fingers through her hair, unknotting a few small knots with ease. She has a moderately thick American accent.

Suvansh was a bit taken aback. Could she read his mind? Or was the question just obvious from his expression? Whatever the case, he blushed a bit, and turned around instinctively, and tried to get back into the lesson to make it less awkward. However much he tried, he couldn't help but give her a peek once in a while. His head tilts, as if adoring her beautiful hair. Her accent too...was nothing he had actually heard in person before. American, he guessed, from the many muggle movies he had watched. As much as he tried, he couldn't give the full concentration to the class today.

Aurora can feel many eyes on her as she leaves the class. Her heart aches as she thinks of Ilvermony, but she's determined to have a good time here at Hogwarts, no one will spoil it. When she catches Suvansh staring at her, she winks before turning back to Emerson, who is, apparently, her roommate. Emerson has waist length brown hair and mischievous green eyes. She has a smile that get's you wondering what she's up too. Aurora likes her already. "Who's that?" she says, gesturing to Suvansh. Emerson wrinkles her nose. "Suvansh Agarwal. A bit arrogant if you ask me but." she says. "Why?" Aurora shrugs. "Professor asked me to sit next to him, that's all." she responds, remembering the curious thoughts he was having.

Suvansh feels his cheeks heat up again when Aurora winks at him while going out of the classroom. Is she really...or is she just playing with me? He just thought it was the second, as no girl had ever winked at him before. But... something told him to feel otherwise. He snapped out of his thoughts and quickly exited the room. He came out just in time was Aurora said "Professor asked me to sit next to him, that's all." That subdued his spirits a bit, but a quick look at the watch made him running towards the next class, which was transfiguration. It was supposedly his first class, but..he had practiced some of it before too! He remembers how many books he read in his first year, that were not even in his syllabus. He was a big nerd that way. He was the first to enter the transfiguration class too, though he was joined by his peers shortly after. He kinda hoped Aurora sat near him again, thought he didn't keep his hopes high, having heard the last sentence. She sat next to him only because professor Flitwick told her to, nothing else.
But then he wondered why would've Flitwick asked her to sit only beside me while the classroom was mostly empty? Was it because...he was one of the best students and Flitwick hoped he helped her? If so...he didn't fare much well...as he was thinking this, he didn't even realise when Aurora came and was giggling looking at him. Was it his face or just she was doing that mind read thingy again? Whatever the case, he couldn't help but feel his cheeks go kinda red once again.

Aurora stared out the window. Boredom was a curse that couldn't be blocked it seemed. When Transfiguration was over, and all the other boring classes were over, Aurora had promised a couple of her new friends that she would describe Illvermony to them. Emerson had proven to be a very good roommate, and had introduced Aurora to Holly, who was a Slytherin girl, Astrid, a Ravenclaw, Azalea, a Hufflepuff and Olive, who was also in Gryffindor. Holly had long black hair and green eyes. Astrid had very pretty red hair, with piercing blue eyes. Azalea had wavy brown hair and hazel eyes, and Olive had blonde hair and brown eyes.

Despite the few distractions in the start of the day, Suvansh's classes went pretty normal, which was to say, not very interesting. Once he was done with all his classes, he went over and retired onto his bed for a few hours, but was awoken by his roommate, Mehul, for dinner. He was a pretty standard student, and was pretty nerdy too, almost as much as Suvansh was. They both would spend hours together in the great library of hogwarts, and would take turns at reading the books they possessed. Mehul was the closest he got for a friend here at Hogwarts, let alone best friend. He had had a pretty rough time socialising the previous year, due to his uncanny introvertness, doubled by his awkward behaviour. He just hoped...to make some more friends this year...especially the new girl...
They both headed over to the great hall, while just nonchalantly talking about their day, when Suvansh suddenly spots Aurora, talking to a few girls, seemingly of the same year, but different houses. Then there was Emerson of course, and Olive, with him he had no interaction despite being in the same house as him. The rest...were just unknown to him mostly, though they were familiar faces. He guessed he revealed to much by the way he looked at Aurora, that Mehul elbowed him and winked at him, but Suvansh just awkwardly shook it off. "You like her." "No I don't?" "Yes you do!" That was when Suvansh would puff his cheeks and just go and sit at the table alone, and then Mehul would catch upto him, laughing.

"He likes you!" Olive says, pointing at Suvansh. Aurora laughs. "It's been one day silly, how could he like me?" she turns and waves at Suvansh, winking at him. Emerson shoulder checks her. "That's a crush if I've ever seen one." she says in a sing-songy voice. Holly smiles. "Girls, girls, girls." she says dramatically. Azalea cuts in. "He's in love!" she says, as Holly says the same thing. Astrid looks up from her book. "Give him a break guys." she says. Holly groans. "Don't be boring Astrid." she says. Astrid smiles mischievously. "After all, it's only day one. We'll find out how he feels on Valentines day!" she says, waving her fingers. All the girls laugh a bit.

Suvansh was just eating some noodles, and was looking in the general direction where Aurora was sitting, not really looking at her, just lost in his thoughts. Mehul kept pestering him saying "You do like her" once in a while and he just won't reply. Suddenly, his eyes caught a wave and a wink, and he noticed it was Aurora. He kinda choked and had to take a sip of coke due to the sudden surprize. By the time he looked up, potentially to reply, Aurora had already looked away, as if she just did that to tease him, and didn't really mean it. At that moment, Mehul elbowed him, and said "Oh! You saw that? She likes you too!" Suvansh only had one reply to that, "Shut up! She couldn't be liking me! She must be just talking to her friends and roasting me about my awkward and embarrassing behaviour!" Mehul just let out a laugh and patted Suvansh on his back, which made him almost spit his noodles. "Oi!" Suvansh said, and Mehul just went out running, laughing all the way. Suvansh gave a sigh, a smile, and went out running after him, losing his appetite. What if she did like me? Nah, the thought was too far-fetched.

Aurora laughed with her friends as Holly told a story. She scrunched her face up and everything, making the group laugh. Emerson pushed her sheet of brown hair over her shoulder. "Tell us about Illvermony now!" she pleaded, making a sad puppy face. Astrid looks up from her book and puts it aside. "Yes tell us!" Holly stops telling her story, her eyes gleaming in excitement. Aurora sighs and begins describing the school. She couldn't close her eyes without seeing it. She felt a pang at the memory of her old home but brushes it aside. She was here now! This had to be better then Illvermony... right?

Every once in a while, Suvansh would sneak a look towards the group, wondering if they were still, if they ever did, laughing at him. Nah, they just be just chitchatting something else. What was there to talk about him anyways? But whenever he looked towards the group, Mehul won't forget to elbow him, and wink at him, to which Suvansh would just puff his cheeks. After a while, he decides he's full, and without even acknowledging Mehul, like he always does, just stands up and walks away, towards the common room. Mehul swiftly follows him.

Satisfied with her description of her old home, Aurora excuses herself, yawning. Emerson yawns as well, and the girls head back to the common room, waving good bye to there friends as they went. "I could use for a longgg cat nap." Emerson commented, brushing her hand through her hair. Aurora nods in agreement. "At least you're used to this time zone!" she says. "I would be in bed by now..." she trails off, lost in thought.

By the time Aurora and Emerson entered the common room, Mehul was off to bed, but Suvansh was reading a book on a couch. It was about unicorns. But not the kind a little child would read, not as a piece of fiction, but an actual researched documentary, specifying about its specialities and stuff like the use of its hairs, and blood...
Just as the painting gives way for Aurora, and his eyes swivel towards her in a moment. She looks so...elegant...and beautiful... he thinks.

Aurora makes eye contact with Suvansh for a second before looking away. She places a fist in her mouth to keep from laughing, and turns so he can't see her struggle. Aurora walks over to the seating area. She flops down on a chair in front of the fire, closing her eyes. Emerson sits on the arm of the chair and stares out the window.

Suvansh is intrigued by the sudden change of expression, but he shakes it off. When they came and sat next to him despite just having talked about sleeping, he feels something's off, but he tries to continue reading, though he is intrigued to strike up a conversation.

Ever the one to be quiet, Emerson speaks up. "What'cha reading?" she quipped, stabbing Aurora behind her back. Aurora sits upright very quickly and glowers at Emerson before regaining her composure. Aurora readjusts her position in the chair and turns to look at Suvansh, squinting to make out the cover of the book.
