Sign Up! It is said that the Archons have the power to bestow a Vision
upon a worthy traveler. When someone receives a vision, it is known
to all that they are worthy of Celestia, the kingdom of the
gods.
At least, that's how it used to be in Teyvat. That was before the
Fatui took over. People died, cities burned, visions cracked. It as
the first time in thousands of years that a war this terrible had
happened.
Shocked beyond recognition by what she considered a horrible
betrayal, Lumine (or the female main character), was transformed.
She became a weapon for mass destruction, untamed and unmatched by
anyone or anything else. The Fatui began rounding up vision holders
and killing them. Only a few escaped.
Akane stares at the star filled night sky, tears poring down her
cheeks. 50 years. 50 years since the war had started. A women,
named lady Jasmene had come from no where, killed 10 out of the 11
Fatui Harbingers, turning the 11th into a weapon for mass
destruction by controlling his foul legacy transformation. That had
led to Lumine's heart being broken, perhaps beyond repair. 50 years
ago this very day, had the first true battle happened. The battle
that had taken so many vision holders.
She repeats the list of the fallen in her head. "Diluc. Xiao.
Keqing. Mona. Jean. Lisa. Kaeya. Ningguang. Xiangling. "And so many
I have forgotten." she clenches her fist around the Jade Winged
Spear, a final gift from a dying adepti. She wipes the tears from
her eyes. A memory she held in her heart flashes in her mind.
"Akane, leave." his blood pooling beneath him. "No- I can't! I
c..c..can't leave you like this." Akane's voice cracks. He takes
her hand, and presses it to his forehead. She gasps, as thousands
of years of memories flash into her head. "Take it." he says,
looking up at her with his determined orange eyes. "I can't." she
responds. "Then I will force you to."
Akane looks determinedly at the moon. "I will use my gifts, and no
one else will die." she whispers fiercely, before sinking to the
ground and putting her head in her hands.
Two silent guys were resting in one of the caves near Starsnatch
cliff, one sitting outside near a tree, the other gazing down into
a book. They shouldnt be resting. That would most often bring
chaos... Staying too long in one place. They had gotten to know
that early on.
Neptunes eyes gazed over to his brother, as always sharp and
protective. He hated the fact that he wasnt able to protect him
back then. Although the vision wasnt completely shattered, neptune
knew that he´d have to bring double power just to cover for his
brothers botched elemental reactions. He didnt blame him,
recounting the days he felt the heat of fires burn and Fatui
Skirmisher chasing them both out of Springvale into the woods. They
hadnt fought that day, yet Zephyr had been injured during their
risky escape. He then rested his Gaze on the blade of his Claymore,
carefully testing the blade. It was still sharp. just like he
needed it to be.
Zephyr seemed to be resting, eyes deep in the book he was reading.
His spellbook to be exact. The healer needed smaller spells, some
that wouldnt need his vision to be used fully. He had his vision
safely tucked under the Jackett he was wearing over the button up.
Zephyr knew that Neptune had only hidden his own because he had
asked him too do so. Although it was risky walking around showing
everyone that ´hey they had visions come here and harm us´,
Neptunes pride had always kept him from tucking it away... Zephyr
had to nag him a lot to finally get some kind of reaction out of
the stoic grown up. He sighed. closing the book he walked.. well
limped over to his older brother "We should continue on our way.
Find shelter."
"Arent the caves enough.? " Neptune asked rather quietly. "They are
big but out in the open. They´d expect us to hide in there" Zephyr
shook his head shortly.
"Akane. I can... sense someone." Xin Sui's smooth melodic voice
snaps Akane out of her trance. "Fatui?" she immediately, on guard.
"No. I sense vision holders. But rather far..." Xin Sui responds.
"I don't care. I'll find them." Akane snaps. Xin Sui nods. "I'd
request you take Lacrimae with you... but I feel as if you would
ignore me." she says quietly. Akane pauses. "I need to do this
alone." no response from Xin Sui.
Akane peers off the cliff's edge. She closes her eyes, wreathing
herself in fire and jumps. The fire consumes her and for a split
second Akane feels like the world is fading. She quickly opens her
eyes, panting. "Starsnatch cliff." she whispers quietly. She feels
her neck for her vision. Sliding it so it isn't visible, she pulls
her hood up and starts quietly heading for the top of the cliff.
"Maybe I'll see them from the cliff." she turns slightly, to the
huge snow-capped mountain in the distance. She can almost feel Xin
Sui's keen eyes on her, even though she knows Xin Sui couldn't have
seen her from here.
"I could try to use a teleportspell-" Zephyr offered, looking at
his brother. "dont do that. If it does work and you teleport
without being teleported somewhere completely random we will
attract more Fatui than we need." Neptune shook his head a little,
Zephyr looked to the ground. "Think you can walk.?" He looked at
his younger brother and Zephyr nodded "Maybe if we take a few
breaks I´ll manage just fine." The green haired boy nodded, his
lips curled upwards into a cheerful smile.
Neptune had always wondered how his brother could stay so positive,
yet seeing him smile a small smile formed on his face too. "Lets
pack up the few things we have then.." He muttered yet Zephyr
already lifted their small bag "Already thought of that."
"What have we here?" the sinister sound of three cicin mages
reaches Neptune's ears. An electro, a hydro and a cryo cicin mage
come practically prancing from a tree, forcing the boys against a
rock wall. About nine cicins buzz around them. "Vision Holders."
one hisses. "DIE!"
All three attack at once.
"Cicins?" Akane's head snaps up in an instant. "Oh no." her polearm
appears in her hand and she takes off running towards the sound.
She is wreathed in fire once more, but instead of teleported she is
simply lifted slightly above the ground for faster travel.
Soft but rapid footfalls were all they could hear, their ragged
breath hitching over every stumble and dip in the terrain. What was
once their ally had become their worst enemy the earth itself
seeming hellbent on tripping them up. What they were running from,
they didn't know, didn't want to know, but the voice in their head
screamed at them to keep moving or else they'll die. The heavy and
laborious weight on their back and shoulder only fueled their
fear-addled brain, forcing their legs to go faster and faster, to
fulfill the duty that they had been given. They were lucky that
they had chosen to hide within Dragonspine, their twin heads of
silver blending among the snowy landscape, but their haven had
turned against them when the increasing number of Fatui had begun
to get too close, exposing the siblings and driving them out,
leading to their current predicament. With Jekylline out like a
light, it would fall upon ZhongYun, her protector by blood and by
duty, to find them yet another safe haven. Those were running out
frighteningly quick though but if ZhongYun squinted, they could
faintly make out where the snow and frost ended, becking them like
a flare.
Trying to keep his brother behind him, his Claymore drawn, water
collecting itself around the blade. Sharpening to make it a foot
longer. He knew he wouldnt be able to keep up with three of them
but he could take at least one down with him. After all , he had
been able to train with Diluc before.. well before he fell in
battle. He had tried to master the style the fire Claymore holder
used, grabbing the Claymore tighter as he smashed the blade into
the Cryo Cicin mage, smashing through any Ice armor that could have
formed on her.
One thing he liked about such blades... They smashed ice. He always
disliked it, often causing him to freeze due to his hydro element
but he´d be able to work with Cryo Vision holders. another swing
was made, the water hitting the electro Mage causing jolts of
lightning to connect between the mages as Neptune pulled his sword
away to not be part of that reaction
"Found you." Akane mutters. She does a plunging attack, landing
between all three mages. Pyro meets all three elements, causing an
explosion. Akane closes her eyes and twirls the Jade Winged Spear.
Fire surrounds her polearm, like the water had Neptune's claymore,
and she leaps at the mages. Electro mages attack her, but meet an
end very quickly. Her eyes open, and she spins the polearm again,
attacking the cryo cicin mage first. Her body is surrounded with a
crimson aura. Another explosion. Within minutes, she has taken all
three cicin mages out. She looks back at the boys, and for a second
they both see a red mask on her face before it disappears along
with the aura and the pyro.
As Neptune lifted his head to look at her, the fire had
disappeared, still in front of his brother he once again took a
rather protective stance, looking at her.
Zephyr eyed her carefully, seeming to be amazed. He was just about
to blurt out a few words of amazement when he noticed Neptunes
position and tried to calm his brother first. After a quiet
exchange of words, Neptune lowered the claymore, the water
disappeared again. His Wolf´s Gravestone shimmered red shortly,
light had hit it. He wasnt sure who she was, yet she had helped
him... So .. was she good?
Zephyr limped forward, bowing shortly to show his thanks as polite
as he could "Thank you for helping us. We wouldnt have been able to
escape without injuries otherwise"
Akane just nods. "It's... no problem." she says. "My name is
Akane... Your names are?" she asks, hesitantly. Her 'sword arm'
relaxes and the Jade Winged Spear disappears. She shifts her hood.
A red mask (one that sort of resembles Xiao's) inlaid with a vision
seems to be attached to the hood. Her crimson- colored cape matches
her hair and her mask.
"My name is Zephyr.- and that over there is my older brother
Neptune. We´ve escaped from springvale and have been looking for
shelter." He said as he steadied himself once more, his hurt leg
gave him a hard time to stand on as he shifted in his place,
eventually stepping back. Neptune looked at her, spotting the
vision in her mask he now seemed to fully relax, for once letting
his guard down. the first time in weeks that he did so in fact.
"how come you were able to find us.?" he spoke up
"I have a friend." she said with a smile. "She has... I don't know
the word. But she's good at finding vision holders. I just came to
find you." the smile melted off her face. "I'm not really giving
you a choice here, but do you want to come back to our camp with
me?" she asks, eyeing Zephyr. "My friend Lacrimae can help with the
injury." she added.
Finally escaping the snowcapped mountain range, ZhongYun let out a
breath but kept running despite their muscles screaming at them to
rest. Off in the distance, ZhongYun could see a camp and they
blanched, shifting their grip on Jekylline. Camps usually meant
Fatui and they weren't very inclined to fight, especially not when
their priority was to find a safe place for Jekylline. They could
faintly make out a slim figure clad in purple garbs and deciding
that fighting a cicin mage wasn't at the top of the list of things
to do today, they slowed their frantic steps down to a crawl,
nervously looking back. There didn't seem to be anyone chasing
after them so they could afford to take their time and creep around
the encampment. Kneeling down, they began to slowly shuffle
forward, keeping out of sight of Xin Sui. Though they didn't get
very far as their muscles cramped up, overworked and tired as they
suddenly pitched forward, sprawling onto the ground with an audible
omph
Zephyr nodded a little, hearing about getting help for the injury
made his heart jump in happiness. He wasnt able to heal himself
very well after his vision had cracked so treatment was amazing to
him. Neptune tensed a little as he heared about the tracking, his
mind went to question if the Fatui would be able to find them. Yet
the hydro user nodded as well "I guess it cant be helped if you
offer help for my brother and dont leave us a chance to decline.
Declining would be quite stupid "he mumbled the last part to
himself "well... we should go then"
Xin Sui whips around, jumping a bit at the noise. "My lord-" she
puts her hand over her heart. Her catalyst appears behind her. "My
dears, don't scare me like that. Wait, I don't know you." she
suddenly looks guarded. "State your name and purpose."
Akane smiles. "Come on, we'll travel a bit on foot." she says,
looking apologetically at Zephyr. "Just far enough that we don't
leave elemental traces." she adds.
There was a breathless moment where the pulsing pain from
overworked muscles stole ZhongYun's air away from their lungs yet
their face stayed impassive with only the barest twitch of lips
giving away the excruciating pain that rolled over them. Staggering
back up, legs swaying and muscles jumping, ZhongYun glared at Xin
Sui and began to shuffle backwards. Jekylline was still safely
cradled within their grasp, head resting in the junction of
ZhongYun's shoulder, the slowly seeping red that stained her snowy
hair contrasting against the dark fabric of their turtleneck. With
their hands full balancing the unconscious cryo user on their back,
ZhongYun couldn't exactly summon their polearm to fight with, their
vision a mocking weight around their thigh. Clenching their jaw,
they said nothing and continued to put distance between them and
Xin Sui, who by this point ZhongYun had accepted wasn't fatui but
was still a threat. A low growl grew in their chest, a noise that
had Jekylline unconsciously relaxing against but to anyone else it
was a clear warning to stay away
Aspen pulled back the loose strands of hair that covered his face.
He looked around the terrain for any signs of life, whether
malevolent or beneficial. The strands fell back in their original
place with no resistance, fracturing the image of his scar and
partially obscuring his vision. For all he could see, there was
nothing his view. Aspen adjusted his oversized coat. Even though it
wasn't all that cold at the camp, he still wore it for comfort.
"I should head back, " he thought to himself. He would hate
to be followed by anyone. The sooner he left, the less chance of
someone noticing him. That's what he believed, at least.
Kaien and Shizai are yet to catch up with the rest. "Kaien, why are you so worried? Nothing is supposedly
dangerous will happen yknow""It's just, I don't know what's wrong with me, I
just feel mixed emotions on this". "Im wonder what it will be like" Shizai said
as she gazed up at the sky.
Gia was sprinting for her life; She had been for about an hour or
around that time. Gia was panting and, after almost falling on
herself from fatigue, she predicted she was near Starsnatch Cliff,
a place she and her father always went every weekend night to see
the outward sea.
Gia had limping before she heard an assortment of voices. She was
too tired to analyze the voices nor was she going to either way.
She limped a little closer to the faint voices and started her
voice
"I-is anybody there?" She asked out loud to the pitch-black
darkness.
I may seem like a bunch of useless text, but I LIVE HERE and I
don't welcome visitors >:(
Letting herself run free like the wind, Eva ran through the forest,
polearm in hand. She didn't understand why someone was hunting
vision holders, or why she was one. Sure the winds matched her free
and wild personality, but why her?
