SakuraWolf23's Starry Skies
Forum-Index → Diaries → SakuraWolf23's Starry SkiesReminder. There are four reasons why I do not currently drive.
-The motions of a car are so soothing to me, I tend to fall asleep on half hour trips.
-I daydream or otherwise daze out for minutes at a time, not hearing or seeing anything going on around me.
-I lack decent Depth (as does dad) and Distance Perception. (My vision is like 20/40. He is genetically near legally blind in one eye)
-Both parents have Night Blindness, so it's a high chance I do as well. And I lack the mentality and perception to properly compensate for it.
Anyways. Dad and I have been discussing. Though we feel all of the above would make me a danger to not only myself and others, we both acknowledge the fact that they are, as dad would say, "legitimate excuses". If worked with, we believe we can find ways to accomodate for all issues.
So. With me taking Zoloft, going after Therapy, and doing other things to help make myself a better functioning adult, by the end of next year, I hope to have my Driver's License. We'd most likely limit driving to local town for a while, then test my ability to go town to town.
And I'm trying to hold back tears. I don't want to bother her if she's going through something, but I'm worried about her. I really hope she gets back to me soon.
I spent most of the last two days playing Diablo III with dad, as it had been so long, and I loved the Pet for this Season, so wanted to get it. [If you want to add me, I'm FireWolf1117#1115]. That, however, means I only have 900/5000 words with five more days left in this Writing Week. I'm heading off now to get some writing in.
The last June, she had a really bad fire nearby. Took two months to contain it, so she breathed in lots of smoke during that time. Apparently, that weakened her immune system, which gave her an infection, which led to a blood infection, which caused problems to her already fragile heart.
She's been in the hospital for the last ten days and almost didn't make it. She's about dad's age (he's 53), and had been remodeling her house all by herself for the last year and a half or so. Doctors gave her orders not to work so hard.
I'm looking at the conquests, and it looks like we could get Avarice, Speed Demon, and Sprinter if we worked with the right people or got strong enough. BUT, that still leaves the issue of having less than two weeks to get powerful enough to do a Solo Level 70 (Torment 16) Greater Rift, and we've not ever been able to do over a T10, with T13 being the highest we ever got during Seasonal.
Depending on how much I like the next Season's pet, I'll go to Chapter IV or spend 200+ hours trying to reach Destroyer capability. Thankfully, Seasons run for three months, so if I put all that work in from the start, I might make it.
As for this Season, I'll content myself with the Dragon pet for finishing Chapter IV.
BUT, it winds up being the last week of the month, which gives me one to three Wild Card days. So *calculates* If I can get either 1k words each day over three days, or 800 words over four days, I'll reach the goal and will be able to put out a new chapter of Angel of the Shadows! *crosses fingers*
Good night! May the Force serve you well! <3
Oh, wow. Completely forgot about this. Wonder how he's doing.
Wow. I just spent 15 minutes talking to a salesman. I haven't had much experience with the black community, but OMG was this guy hilarious (and kinda cute). He had an amazing attitude. You could tell he definitely loved being a salesman.
The product is Advantage 20x. He showed how it worked on one of the car's headlights that hadn't been cleaned in a while. It even removed the permanent marker from a washrag near instantly. I loved how when he was showing it on the window, he said "Wax On, Wax Off" and when he was cleaning the permanent marker, he was like "It's like an argument. Just goes back and forth and back and forth..."
Dad's typically against buying any type of product based on sales hype, but he liked the guy's attitude enough to buy one at $20 to try it out.
Update: We recently had the chance to use the product on a really dirty huge aquarium, and by golly, did it work like a charm! Definitely worth the $20.
Below holds potential gross-out factor. Read at your own risk.

While standing at the checkout, I saw
something that really intrigued me. Disgusting, but intriguing
nonetheless. And so, I bought two suckers at $3 and $5. They were
orange and strawberry flavored. And made with real bugs included.
In this case, a Cricket and a Scorpion.
Now. I've eaten a cricket before. I was like eight, and had just learned bugs were a good source of protein. We had sticky traps to catch the mice in our house. Unfortunately, they occasionally caught crickets. Which, out of random curiosity, I'd picked one off the trap, and stuck it in my mouth. I remember it didn't taste as disgusting as I'd expected.
As for the Scorpion. I'm not sure if I'll be able to eat it, as I've always found scorpions cute.

He then lays down on my lap, allowing me to belly rub him. All the while, he's purring up a storm while his tail is going back and forth.
At one point, he notices my other hand beside him, basically sticks his face into my cupped hand, and rubs against it.
However, I will be yet again reconsidering my schedule. Going to keep the Read/Write/Read/Write/Free method(at least, until I'm out of library books to read and it becomes less of a priority), as it works really well. But, though I'm trying to abide by dad's rule of focusing on primary projects, I continue to feel bad that I don't put out regular updates for y'all, and I know some of you really want to see how this turns out. And it's really hard when an idea for Angel of the Shadows is gnawing at me.
Basically, what I'm thinking is. In order to abide by dad's 1:5 request (for every 100 words in AotS/RP, I write 500 in Forevermore), I think I'm going to allow myself one day a week to work on Angel of the Shadows. Both writing and reading weeks. And make it to where that's all I get. Whether I write 100 words that day, or 3,000. This way, I can put out at least an update a month during the times that I'm not feeling much up to writing at all.
Progress:
IF I can make it to a Solo Torment 13 Greater Rift, then I'll ask in chat for 1-3 of the bigger players to help me get the rest of the achievements. Those I'd need help with would be:
-Complete 1, 2, and 3 Conquests
-T13 Greed, Azmodan, Skeleton King, Siegebreaker, Urzael
-T12 Nephalem Rift >6 minutes, and T13 Nephalem Rift >4 minutes
We've also learned quite a bit this season thanks to how hard we've been pushing. So, as I said. If the Guardian Pet is something I really want, I actually stand a very good chance at getting it.
