What are the odds (roughly) of fishing up a shiny at the beach? Is it the same as non-chain odds or chaining odds? How much of an increase do you get from using the shiny rod compared to the super rod?

To my knowledge, no precise information of the shiny odds at the beach have been released by the duck. Just like we don't know the precise odds of hatching a random non-chain shiny.

I don't know how much the shiny rod actually increases your odds, but it's no worse than the super rod when it comes to what you can catch. So it's just an upgrade and there's no reason to not use it anyway.

I'd wager fishing with the shiny rod has better chances of getting a shiny than a non-chain shiny. I wouldn't be as confident about betting if it's better or worse than chain-shiny odds though, but I'd probably lean no.
