I think the moderators would like this, if a thread has been locked for over a month, you could delete it. They really only take up extra space anyway!

I don't really see what you mean. Do you mean users delete them or moderators? Either way I do not support it.

1. Thread amount show forum activity.
2. Thread might be useful in future.
3. Users must NEVER have ability to moderate since they are normal users and that's moderators job/power.

I think sooner or later a forum clean-out will be needed due to the accumulation of inactive threads. But that time should be decided by Riako and the mods.

Considering that Riako gets probably enough money from PH players, there will be no need for clean out. He could buy better hosting/speed up the site if there will be need of that.

Old inactive trading threads have been cleaned out before, and I can see the use in that. Some other types of threads should stay for archive/re-use purposes, and yet other types could use selective/manual cleaning. However, no matter which way it is done (if at all), the whole thing must remain in staff hands. You can't even delete your own posts (for good reason) - why should you be able to delete your own (assuming you created the thread) along with other users' posts? No support!

Forum posts doesn't matter for me and for maybe 70% of PH members, but giving normal user to delete their own thread might cause something really bad, let's say user made a thread and it has 1000 posts. Deleting that thread would be loss for a lot of member's post and activity.
More threads/posts make site more active, it's easier to search in google, in other search engines. So I wouldn't support any kind of cleanout, but yea as Moonrise said, it's up to Riako.

we already do go through and do deletion of old threads we feel aren't relevant or needed anymore

if a user doesn't want their thread up anymore (like a trade shop, diary, etc), they can just PM to have it removed as long as no funny business is going down in the thread in question
