"Bird, there is a storm. Thunder storm. Stealing us. No more
departing, we need to eat," she said, screeching to a halt and
waiting for the others to follow her.
Norbert bouncing atop her head, Tidal ran as quickly as she could,
vaulting over streams and puddles. At one point, one of her flats
got stuck in the mud. She wrenched her foot out and, leaving it
behind, continued running, shouting back as loudly as she could in
hopes the storm Pokemon would hear her, "Too bad we left the dinner
in the tree!"
Xaiver paused. What in the world was she saying? He turned back.
The tree? Was there something there? He headed back into the
darkness to investigate it.
As she came upon a place where the ceiling of the swamp sloped down
to meet the floor, Tidal quickly darted to the side, placing her
hand on a tube made of bricks. Her eyes glowed blue and a section
of the bricks flew out, revealing a ladder leading down to a sewer
system and up to a hatch. "We need to leave through the toilets,"
she whispered as the others caught up.
Meka wrinkled her nose. Through there? Eww! At least,
Tidal's lie had worked. The presence had turned around. It wouldn't
be fooled for long, though. "Are we sure this is the only way? I
mean, I could psychic us up and out?"
Following the Mew, Tidal began to climb up the ladder. The rungs
were slimy and rusted, and there were 30-some between the
legendaries and the manhole cover.
With a bit of confused laughter, Mystin followed after them. That's
when he realized that he was going down the sewers, and his
laughter stopped suddenly, turning into a rather sullen
silence.
Xaiver groaned. "No! She was bluffing!" The tablet was not in the
tree at al! He almost kicked the tree before remembering the smell.
Obviously toxins. He decided to continue in the direction he had
heard the voices go, to follow them for the plate.
The sewage trip wasn't far, though it was awfully smelly. Xaiver
followed close behind, very, very mad about this. Though he had
managed to put away his anger at the thought of getting another
tablet.
Somehow, through the smell, the psychic's failed to notice Xavier's
presence. They focused on the light up ahead. "Let's go! Almost
there!" She darted to the exit
