Devon sat down on a bench outside his home. He had woken p a little
early than expected and was now passing the time watching pokemon
go about their business. With a small smile he finally stood up. He
supposed he should get going. Maybe he would wait for Viola, just
to be nice. With a small snort and a shake of the head he sat back
down. "She better hurry up." He said to himself jokingly.
Viola picked up her bag and put on her hat. her mom was waiting by
the door, smiling. it was her only daughter's birthday, after all,
so seeing her leave to go on an adventure was a gift on its
own.
"Stay safe." she whispered to Viola as she opened the door "and
Happy birthday."
Devon heard voices coming from the direction of Viola's house. With
a grin he jumped up and rushed over. "Viola!" He shouted excitedly.
He puffed as he came to a halt, stopping just a short distance. He
dropped his hands on his knees as he bent over, a grin still on his
face. "Viola, you ready to go?"
Devon nodded along with her. "Yeah, I woke up at like, 4 and I
couldn't go back to sleep. Raihan was a little upset but he
understood." He seemed unable to hold still, bouncing on his toes
in excitement. "I can't wait any longer either, let's go!"
Devon nodded, starting to lead the way. "So have you been thinking
about the team you might wanna use? I wanna make a dragon-type
team, one that'll be even stronger than Raihan's!" As he spoke he
seemed to get even more excited if it were possible.
Devon nodded, as if deep in thought. "Well, if that does happen..."
He then seems to perk up. "I'll just have to train my team really
hard! I know we can beat your team if we try, we'll just need to
work for it!" Devon grabbed Viola's arm. "C'mon, let's hurry!" He
took off at a sprint, dragging her along.
"Erhm..." Devon pauses, turning to Viola. "Do you think he's still
at Wedgehurst? What if he left already!" He shook his head,
dropping Viola's hand. "No... Raihan would have told me if he left
already, right?" When he thought about it, he wasn't sure how his
older brother would know or not. he ignored that thought. "Let's
go." He started down Route 1, avoiding the tall grass.
Devon pushed through the small crowds in Wedgehurst when they
arrived, looking at the train station. "Y'know it's been a while
since I've seen Leon." He sometimes saw the man when he and Raihan
were hanging out or battling. He stared at the building, turning to
face Viola. "Have you ever met him before?"
Devon hummed. "Oh, well I guess you'll meet him soon enough." He
pushed his way into the train station, looking for Leon. "Leon!"
The boy called out, looking for any sight of the older man.
Finally Devon rushed foward. "Leon!" As he shouted out the name, a
man with purple hair turned around, a grin on his face. Leon
actually was here. "Hey Devon, good to see you. I heard you were
bringing a friend, yeah?" Devon nodded, turning around to look for
Viola. "Yeah, she's in here I think..."
Devon spotted Viola, walking over. He made sure Leon was following
close behind. Ever since he had been told of Leon's ability to
easily become lost he had been a little wary of his location.
"Viola, this is Leon!" The mentioned man raised a hand in greeting.
