Is there a way to check if you have the upgrade for Route 102 or Burned Tower? As its been years since I got them, I can't remember if I got the upgrade to get the legendary retros.

Unfortunately, there isn't. The images are the same, so the only way to figure out if you have the update, is sending out pokémon and keeping track of what they bring back.
