I have enough activity points to claim another event egg from the event distribution, but i'm currently trying to shiny chain combee. If i claim and hatch the event egg, does it break my chain?

The pokeradar page tells you what will break your chain.

Quote Important: Only eggs that are obtained from the Lab, the Daycare, the Gem Collector, the Safari, the Ancient Cave1, the Event Shop or found in the Tall Grass count for your chain.

Since event distribution is not on the list, no, it won’t break your chain.
