Due to the fact that Jack has been hogging all the berries on his island, he makes a small garden behind his shelter, complete with a fresh patch of sunlight bucket of water.

Melon picked some berries, leaves, twigs/branches, and other materials to store for later use. She was more conscious of her somewhat limited food source and buried her impulse to start eating all the berries she picked. Mostly though, Shade hurt her feelings and she didn't want to prove him right by eating more berries... After gathering the resources, she set up a small campfire and made sure not to burn her leaf. Melon put some berries on a stick and roasted them over the fire.
My father...I haven't heard about him in a long time...and I hoped I never would hear of him again...what he did...I will never forget or forgive him...what he did... Melon thought to herself, tears dripping down her face and falling into the fire, sending sparks and flames shooting up into the air and startling her. "I guess I should eat now..." she mumbled, not really having an appetite after her conversation with Shade. She was still crying and heartbroken.

Survive is my main goal so far... I have to man up... But Melon... she just complains and eats! I had to care for all 4 of my siblings... No mother... No father... she had it easy... but now it's my terms... I am used to living in the forest... alone...

As Melon watched the flickering flames of her campfire while she roasted berries, she wondered what it would be like to evolve into a Flareon and just have everything around her burn in flames, chaos, and complete destruction. But...then she wouldn't be able to swim away and escape this cursed island so maybe she should evolve into a Vaporeon instead... She cried herself to sleep, her last action being a broken heart drawn in the sand with her stick.

Melon followed the sweet scent towards Shade and the Pokepuffs. She sighed and mumbled in a monotone voice, "I thought you said you wouldn't make food for me anymore..." Her fur was stained with tears mixed with sand and she tried to brush them off. She picked up the note and crumpled it up into a ball, tossing it aside, and slowly ate the Pokepuffs. "..."

Jack wakes up more refreshed than usual as he tends to his garden. The garden he made is very strong and can grow 2 berries overnight. Jack picks the berries and replants them.

"Sigh...I feel like I'm always taking care of you despite you being the one always making delicious food..." Melon murmured, using Aromatherapy on Shade. "Are you awake, Shade...?" Despite seeming like she was unconcerned and hated Shade on the outside, she really did still love him and cared for him. Melon was worried for Shade...where did he get the horrible poison from? A wild Pokemon?
