Hi guys! This is a rewrite of my old fanfic, The Prophecy of Claw, that I posted on PH a while back. The idea of Claw was made by my friend, TommyGunz~Haxbreon; in fact, it was originally his OC, but he wanted me to write a story about Claw, so, here it is.

Please don't post anything on this forum, and if you want to ask me anything or tell me something, don't hesitate to contact me! My pal pad is always open.

I can't make any promises, but I hope to continue writing this story till the end. If you're reading this, thank you so much for supporting me, and I hope you enjoy!

Title: Chapter 1

Will’s making me write about this… Apparently, something like this happens every few decades, which I find hard to believe. But if he’s telling the truth, well, I hope this helps somebody. Well, the luck we had was so crazy that it probably won’t help with anything skill based...

Know what? If I have to write about our adventures, might as well make it true and entertaining, more fun for both of us. So if you’re reading this, I hope you’re reading this for enjoyment, and if not… good luck defeating a literal pokemon god.

My name is Claw (yeah, yeah, I know, generic fierce pokemon name, I didn’t choose it)... and where do I even start? Well… I guess the first thing I should say is that if you want a nice, peaceful life, without some giant pokemon trying to kill you every other day (which you should want), don’t wander into a dark, shady looking cave with your brother. I know, it seems kind of like a given, but when you’re a young Axew looking for adventure and mystery… lets just say, it isn’t as obvious.

We’d just sprinted across a meadow, ‘we’ being me and my twin brother (but he’s the older twin, according to him, and won’t shut up about it). His name was Slasher. Yes, I know, another very creative name for a clawed pokemon, it was our parent’s choice, okay? We never really knew them… but we didn’t mind. It was just the two of us, and that’s all we needed.

Slasher heaved a sigh, and plopped down beneath a shady lum berry tree on a majestic hill, and I followed suit. “Let’s never do that again,” He suggested. I nodded in agreement. It’s harder to cross a meadow full of territorial pokemon than you’d think… especially if said pokemon are fairy types and you happen to be a dragon.

Slasher grabbed two of the green fruits, and held one out. “Try it,” He offered me. Curious, I grabbed and sniffed it, as Slasher began crunching on his berry’s hard exterior. “It's good,” He coaxed with a twinkle in his eye. I obliged, and bit into it, instantly regretting my decision.

“SLASHER!” I yelled jokingly. “YOU KNOW I DON’T LIKE BITTER TASTES!” I spat the fragment out, barely missing Slasher, who only laughed. “Why so gLUM, little bro?” He laughed at his own joke, staring annoyingly at me. “You and your puns…” I grumbled, feeling just like how the berry had tasted, that is to say, bitter. “Aw, you know you love me.” A grin spread across Slasher’s face. I threw the rest of my berry at him. It let out a small *thump* as it hit his head, then rolled down the hill, surprising me as it let out another thump, then another softer one, and again…

“Hey, what’s that?” Slasher asked. We were silent for an awkward moment, trying to listen to the repeated thumps… almost like… “An echo,” I decided. “Maybe there's a cave around here?” I turned to Slasher. He tilted his head. “Maybe… hey, wanna go on another adventure?” An impish twinkle caught his amber eye. I felt a warm smile make its way across my scaly face. “Is that even a question?”

We scurried in sync down the hill, the grass turning over under my sharp foot claws. I took a final jump, stumbling slightly as I reached the base. I’m sure my brother would have joked about it, but we were too curious to care. We turned around to face the hill and I couldn’t believe what I saw.

Sure enough, just an alolan exeggutor’s length away was the maw of a cave. Rocky spikes protruded from the roof and floor like Axew tusks, and you couldn’t see the back. Inside was an eerie gray mist, as if the place was an ancient temple. Beyond that was only an unsettling darkness. Basically, the place screamed: “Danger! Do not enter, unless you want to die!” Naturally, Slasher cheerfully ordered: “Let's explore!”

Oh boy, was that a mistake.

Title: Chapter 2

The two of us trod in fearlessly into the cave. As we walked, the mist disappeared, and the cave formed a hallway that seemed as long as 10 Rayquaza, revealing the majestic sight of…. absolute darkness.

“It’s too dark to see anything,” I grumbled. “Okay, captain obvious,” Slasher joked, and I swung my tail at him, annoyed but amused. Pro tip: Don’t try to do anything too risky in a pitch black space, especially when that pitch black place is also a mysterious cave.

However, I got a little lucky. The momentum of my tail swung me to the cave wall, and I fell to the rocky floor with an “Oof!” “Hey, you okay, Claw?” I heard Slasher quickly ask, concerned. He was always so protective of me… maybe he really was the older sibling (I don’t remember, my hatch date was a while ago). Either way, it could be pretty annoying, but I also thought it was really sweet.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I assured him. I clumsily fumbled around the cave, looking for a wall to help me up, and thankful that the cave’s darkness didn’t allow my brother to see me looking so awkward. My hand hit a solid surface, and I got to my feet, pressing my scaled palm on the wall.

Suddenly, the cave began to rumble, and a faint blue light washed over the cave like a wave, allowing us to see. Slasher and I instinctively jumped, and I timidly rushed over to stand beside him. Slasher wrapped his arm around me, as the rumbling faded, and we waited for something to happen. Thankfully, the cave stayed silent and stopped rumbling, but the blue light stayed, revealing a magnificent sight.

All along the cave walls were rows of glowing symbols, which were emitting the blue light that let us see. I turned towards the place I’d pressed the wall. On it was a large, turquoise spiral, which looked like a button. The symbols looked like a pokemon I’d seen in a book once… but I couldn’t put my finger (well, claw) on its name.

“Unown, I think,” Slasher commented. “This place looks amazing! I wonder who made this?” He observed the symbols some more. “Weird, usually unown spell out words… but these don’t seem to mean anything.” I stepped closer to the cave wall to look at the symbols.

“ycehporpnogard?” I awkwardly and slowly tried to pronounce the writing that the unown spelled. “Doesn’t mean anything important to me… I guess you could say that… the meaning is unown.” I turned towards Slasher and pointed finger guns towards him, and smiled as I heard his mischievous laugh. “I’ve taught you well,” He remarked, beaming. I grinned back. “Okay, grandpa.” Slasher rolled his eyes, and slapped me lovingly on the face (which, to be fair, I deserved).

A moment later, something seemed to catch Slasher’s eye, and a distracted look flashed across his face. “Claw, Claw! Bro, you gotta look at this!” He scampered to one of the walls at the back, illuminated by the dim light of the mysterious unown, and pointed towards a breathtaking painting, splashed across the surface. The wall was covered in various pokemon, like a pink, blue and yellow trio I didn’t recognise, and various other characters performing tasks or bravery and daring.

My eyes were drawn to the center figures, and I wondered how I hadn’t noticed the characters before. Up front and center were two detailed pokemon, one being a fraxure holding some sort of weapon. The fraxure was holding some sort of object towards massive, white pokemon, with purple-ish accents and fins (wings, perhaps?) with a pearly sheen, some on its back, and another long one on its head. It was definitely some sort of legendary pokemon, and the detail on it was so amazing, I could imagine it coming right off the cave wall.

Of course, I said the first thing that any rational pokemon would say when face to face with a stunning painting of a pokemon god: “Why does he have a mohawk?” Slasher wheezed, a bright, happy noise and the dim lighting of the cave. “That’s what you say?” He laughed. “Not ‘wow!’ or ‘incredible!’ or something like that?” He chuckled again. It was contagious. Then, he pointed towards the Fraxure.

“Do you think we’ll ever do anything as brave as that?” Slasher asked, his eyes fixed on the art. “Be as brave as that?” “Well…” I began. “Me? Definitely. You? Eh…” Needless to say, we had another good laugh, and Slasher whacked me with his tusk, shining blue in the light of the unown.

A moment later, a warm light caught the attention of both my brother and I, standing out from the cold, blue light of the strange symbols. “Hey, what’s that?” Slasher asked. Without thinking much about it, we both began walking down the long cave tunnel toward the glow. The pinkish-orange glow came from a little cranny at the very end of the cavern, which Slasher and I easily slipped through (perks of being a small Axew). What was in there was… disappointing, to say the least.

On a roughly cut stone pedestal layed a single shard of glistening, pinkish crystal, no bigger than my hand. It had a sharp, pointy end, a smooth, rounded back, and rough edges, as if it was hastily sawed off of another, larger crystal. “It’s a crystal,” Slasher declared. He was observant like that. “I guess it's cool…” We were both clearly thinking the same thing: ‘Really? That’s all? Even little caves usually have crystals…’

“Well, might as well snag it, it could sell for a nice price at the next village we find,” I pointed out, looking for the silver lining. “Some pokemon like jewelry, and I’ve never seen a stone this colour before, or one that glows like this.” Slasher nodded, and motioned towards me. “Good idea, go ahead.” I slipped the little gem from the pedestal to the pouch I kept around my neck in one smooth motion then turned back to Slasher, who nodded.

“Okay, if that's everything this cave has to offer, we-” He was cut off by a rumbling noise that filled the cave, much louder because of the cave’s echoes, and much more fierce. I felt the ground begin to shake under my feet, and my brother and I made eye contact, revealing the fear in Slasher’s expression. Slasher was always so confident and sure, seeing him scared made me worry. A loud *THUD* echoed in the cave, along with the rumbling, and more followed. The stalactites were falling from the ceiling, and the cave was collapsing! “GO! RUN!”
