I was trying to play Treasure Hunt and when I picked one it locked on this. A couple seconds later I got a "gateway error message" that the site wasn't working.
I checked back a bit later, it had eaten my game chips and I never figured out if I picked the correct box or not.
What is happening?

Even if it skips the animation, it's the click that gives you the reward, not the animation. So if the GC are gone, the Chest was opened, you just didn't see it.
[I know it's not much, but at least you can be sure your GC weren't just eaten]

More people at home means higher traffic on websites and more pressure on the servers. Unfortunately, that also means higher chance of a server going down when there's more traffic than it can handle, especially if there are several websites on the same server.
[Note - I'm not sure whether PH shares server space with other website(s), it's just a theory that could explain the increase in server traffic]
