Sign-Up

This Roleplay is semi-based on the movie “Avatar”. The Roleplay contains no spoilers. Certain ideas are based on the movie, but the rest is my own ideas

The year is 3010. Technology has evolved, humans and our society has evolved as well. During what they call the “Renovation Era”, the government and scientists are working together in a life-changing experiment. Out of the 8.4 Billion people on Earth, only 300 have been called to be a part of this experiment, one person from each country/state. You, of course, are one of them. This experiment let’s people interact in their own made-up world, like a more realistic Lucid Dream. The person has their own land in the made-up world, and it can be whatever they want. Heck, people can choose to have powers if the wish, or even shapeshift. You can also visit each other in this world. The rest is up to you.

Eclipse walked around the forest wondering what she should do she didn’t want to run into anything dangerous but she needed to know what was on the other side the trees had grey bark and bore pink and orange leaves eclipse didn’t know why the leaves looked this way though many things here were a mystery to her but she kept going sometimes she tried to name things but she didn’t have a name for these trees she sat down it the shade of a particularly large tree and pulled out her container of water she had woven the container out of bamboo she found near a river but still didn’t know how long this would last her she looked for any signs of life and was surprised at how much wildlife there was birds chirping and squirrels moving about the trees this land was beautiful but her senses told her that it would become a blood bath at night
(I didn’t really know were to start with it but I think that I will switch to a flashback from time to time)

Maiki was laying in a hospital bed. The only sounds she could hear were the faint beeps of the machines around her. She slowly opened her eyes to see the sunlight pouring in from the window beside her. She slightly lifted her arms to see layers of bandages wrapped around it, like a cast. The other arm was less severe, but was still shocking. What had happened? She couldn’t remember anything. She closed her eyes again and tried to think. What had happened before she passed out and ended up here?

Julian cheered when his screen lit up with the golden shower of victory, cursive words declaring his triumphant battle with the Lord of the West Winds only fueling his joy. The chatbox on his stream was blowing up as Julian couldn't help the grin on his face. "Booyah!" He laughed, punching the air with his fist. "That's right chat, I did it! I beat that flying snake in no time flat! Of course my lovely lovely team helped out. Thank you guys, by the way." There was a round of laughter in his headset as his team laughed along, some cheering as high fives could be heard. Sighing, Julian clicked some of the boxes displaying the loot he had pilfered from the raid, sorting through them methodically. "Well chat, like I said at the beginning this is going to be a short stream since my parents are dragging me off to some social function or another. Can we get an F in the chat for my poor soul? I'll definitely need it." Bubbling laughter pooped from his chest again as the chat was spammed with F, some sending out sad faces or disappointed messages. The smile never left Julian's face even when he logged off and ended the stream, a happy sigh running through his body.
Being an internet hot shot definitely had its perks. There was nothing quite like making a smile on people's face. Stretching luxuriously and hearing his back pop, Julian kicked off his slippers and laced up his boots trotting around his personal apparent to get ready for whatever event his parents wanted him to attend.

Eclipse walked out of the forest and started heading into town she didn’t like the towns they didn’t respect the old ways of life she walked to the building were she was supposed to go the streets were loud and noisy and she just wanted to break away from it all she went through the buildings large doors hoping that it would be quiet inside.

A short, skinny lady in a white uniform walked through the door silently, carrying a tray of food. “Ah, you’re finally awake I see?” She said, setting the food down on the table beside the bed. “How are you feeling?” She asked, observing Maiki’s face. She still seemed quite pale.

“Sore, but overall... refreshed I guess...” she muttered as she opened her eyes to look at the lady. She felt like she was run over by a semi 20 times, but it didn’t seem to hurt. She just felt... weak. She sighed and turned her head to look at the window. “What happened? Why am I here?” She asked the lady.

Eclipse walked into the building it looked like a mix between a gov building a lab and a hospital witch was loud. She already hated it here the floors were white along with almost everything “could this be anymore boring?” She asked herself

As usual, his parent's Butler, Pratikriyā, was waiting outside for him, impeccably dressed as always. "Good morning Kiriya. Am I going to know what's to happen today or do Mother and Father want to keep it a secret?" He asked good naturedly, sliding easily into the backseat of the luxurious car.

"Well your parents have been investing in a Lucid Dream experiment. The project is now complete and as the son of one of the benefactors, the company saw it fit for you to be one of the 300 people to take part in the experiment." Pratikriyā explained smoothly, taking the wheel of the car. The engine purred under her touch and the young heir was off, speeding down the lanes. Julian gazed out the window of the car, mulling over the information. Well, that was quite unexpected. He had heard snippets of the Lucid Dream experiment on the internet but to think that he'd be taking part in it... That was quite shocking.

“What do you remember before waking up? Do you remember going on any trips or going to an event?” She asked, still observing Maiki. Everything seemed to be normal.

“I...” she thought for a bit, trying to remember. “I was taking a road trip with my friend across the country and...” she stopped. She remembered the screams of her friend as they slammed into a large van on a bridge. She couldn’t exactly remember what happened afterwards. “No no no.... is she ok?”

“I can’t say, I don’t know what happened to her.” She replied, her tone getting sadder and sadder as she spoke.

Eclipse looked around she was to go to room 8b she scanned the room numbersi until she found it 8b she turned the handle and walked into the room glancing around to see were she was the room looked about as big as a Auditorium well it looked nearly identical to a auditorium she walked up some stairs to look for her seat and sat down waiting for it to start she pulled out her phone and started playing some video games

Eclipse was getting tried off waiting so she opened up her email to look at what time it would start 3:00 it read but it was only 1:45 so she put in her earbuds to listen to music and got comfy in her seat the seat she was in had a balcony view so she would be able to see almost everything she continued playing her game and waited for it to start

Maiki sighed and looked back over to the door. Experiment? What experiment? She looked at her bandaged arms and the blanket covering her legs. Was the injuries really that bad? How long was she going to be hospitalized? A sudden realization popped into her head. She couldn’t feel her legs, at least, not one of them. The other still had a small bit of feeling in it, but not much. She purses her lips, closed her eyes, and leaned her head back in the bed.

There was a sigh from Julian as he pulled out his phone, fingers nimbly dancing over the keypads as he began to text some of his friends. Some laughed not unkindly at his situation while others simply sighed and wished him luck. Pocketing his phone, he watched the cityscape fly past him as they entered a more busy area. There was a hospital near where they stopped and Juian got out to stretch. The sun shone over his copper skin, dancing around to mess around with azure hair. "This building, young master." Pratikriyā motioned, striding into a building. "I can not go into here with you, but the room you will be searching for is 8b."

Nodding, Julian took the elevator up to the room he was supposed to go. It was quite in the building, almost too quiet. His foot steps echoed in the room too loudly for his liking. It reminded him of his home in the mountains where the long halls would stretch on forever and no one but servants roamed the halls. Shuddering, he quickly found the room he needed and entered. There was someone already present but he paid her no mind and took a seat closest to the door.

A tall man walked through the door, wearing a generous smile on his face. “How are you, Maiki?” He asked. He was told to let her out immediately, even if her condition wasn’t suited for it. He tried to go against it, but he failed. After all, the government said that, not his boss.

“Okay I guess...” she muttered as she opened her eyes and looked at him. His name tag showed “Harrison Walkman”, a simple name. “Can someone tell me what is going on?” She asked, looking at him desperately.

Eclipse looked over at the person who had just entered the room then went back to playing her game the clock on her phone said 2:01 but she felt as if she had been there for hours she pulled up her hood and waited this felt like it stretched on forever just waiting for this to start
(I changed eclipses age because I don’t think a 12 year old could do this just let me know if you oppose that)

“I’ll explain after the event, you’re needed there right away.” He simply said. A nurse walked in with some clothes and a wheelchair.
(I don’t know how this works so I’m just going to skip some stuff >~<)

She noticed a large building near the hospital, one that’s he presumed was the place she was needed at. She went over there and entered the building, looking for 8b like she was told. This place seemed off, like it didn’t suit the size. She sighed and entered the room, looking around at the empty, but somehow full looking room.

Eclipse noticed another person come in she was in a wheelchair and lots of bandages but eclipse didn’t really want to interact with anyone she tried making herself as small as possible in the hopes that she wouldn’t be seen and continued playing her game switching songs every once in a while the clock said 2:30 and other people started to come in most siting in the rows at ground level

Waving lazily to the girl in a wheelchair, Julian pulled out his phone smiling at the texts he received. His friends were trying to cheer him up by sending stupid photos of pufferfish doing silly things. The video of the bloated fish munching away on a carrot had a snort rumbling from his chest. Deciding to do something actually productive for once, he searched up on the internet about the Lucid Dream Project, hoping to find some answers.

She looked around, trying to find a place to wait. She guessed a corner would be good enough, as no one seemed to be at 2 of them. She went over to one and stopped, trying to figure out what was going on based on what she knew. There was a Lucid Dream Experiment that she was participating in. Ok, did that help her? Not really. As long as she didn’t have to go through a surgery or something, she was fine.

(Ah yes the pufferfish XD)
