Pine was curled up in a ball. She had been lonely her whole life but she had never been without her parents before. She looked at the stars from where she was. She had found the highest possible place in the Poison Jungle to hide. She looked at the stars and wondered why she had to be left by herself in this hostile world.

Nightshade flew towards her favorite tree. (which happened to be the one Pine was in) "Why did my parents have to leave me? I thought they loved me..." Nightshade paused, allowing herself a moment of weakness.

Pine heard another dragon mumbling. Pine panicked for a moment and flew higher into the tree. She forgot to be quiet though and made the leaves around her rustle.

Brimstone flew towards the Poison Jungle. She knew it was the only place she would not be followed to. As she flew she heard a dragon screech something about being left by their parents. Wondering if the dragon that had yelled was in the same position as she was, Brimstone flew toward the noise.

“Run! Fly! Get away as fast as you can!” Blizzard, Aurora’s father, hissed. His eyes were wide with fear for his daughter as he gave her a rough shove.

Aurora dashed to the back door and turned to give her father one last goodbye. “They’re here!” he growled. But he embraced Aurora before opening the door, which creaked. Aurora winced, but rushed out before anything else happened. She took refuge in a pine tree and watched the guards at the door interrogate Blizzard.

“Where is Aurora? You promised to have her ready,” the leader growled. Aurora’s father, usually so cold and calculating, made an audible whimper.
“Well- er- you see-“
“Stop lying! We know you’re trying to hide her- you’re coming with us. Maybe your daughter will see sense and surrender herself.”

Aurora watched with tear-filled eyes as her father was dragged, kicking and fighting the whole way, to a cage in which he was imprisoned. Then, the Queen’s guards flew away with him inside. The IceWing/RainWing hybrid sat for a while, staring at the stars, before shaking herself. Grieving for her sill living father wasn’t going to solve anything. Wiping away glimmering tears from her cheek, she glared determinedly down the path the kidnappers had taken. The path to the Ice Palace.

Then she flew, resolutely refusing to let any more tears escape her tired eyes, towards the Rainforest Kingdom- and her sister, Shine, and her mother, who were sure to be in danger from similar threats...

Brimstone kept flying. As she flew she remembered what had happened that had made her leave. She had been woken by her mother, who was very worried. Alderfly had then shoved a paper into her hand and told her "Run! Read that once you get out of the hive!" Then Adlerfly had shoved her through the door, shut it, then locked it. As she had flown out of the hive she was extremely thankful that her mother had chosen to live on the lowest level. She had barely escaped the hive before the guards at the entrance closed the doors. She then had to outspeed the guards as she raced towards Poison Jungle, and a way to get to Phyrria where her father lived- away from other dragons.

As Aurora soared toward her destination, she noticed a light in the distance, back at home... or whatever it was to her now, maybe not home anymore. Her acute eyesight picked up a couple of large, normal IceWings battling a smaller dragon who looked part SandWing. (If someone makes this dragon cool but if not its just a random dragon)
As she watched, the larger IceWings froze part of the rebel’s wings and they slowly toppled out of the sky, desperately breathing spurts of blue flame at their attackers. They dodged it swiftly and one tackled their target in midair.

However, the hybrid continued fighting, and somehow managed to wriggle out of the IceWing’s grasp. They ripped themselves free and attempted to fly away, but the other full IceWing grabbed one of their horns. Aurora watched in horror as the victim tried to shake itself free, broke its horn and flapped hurriedly away, towards the ocean. The ‘pure’ IceWings watched derisively, obviously believing that their opponent would fatigue and drown. They flew away with the horn, probably to report to Queen Snowfall.

Aurora gave an involuntary shiver of disgust at the monstrosities committed. Then, she flew away faster than ever, fearing that she would have the same fate...

Or worse.

Pine realized that the dragon that had come by must not have seen her. (Good. The last thing I need is to be given over to the Icewings or Leafwings.) She had lived just outside the Ice Kingdome her whole life. Her mother and siblings lived in the Poison Jungle and her father had made a tunnel to the Ice Kingdom from the Poison Jungle so he could visit. Pine knew the reason she lived alone was that her mother didn't like her. She had found out from her father that since she looked like a hybrid and not a lot of one of the tribes she came from that her mother hated her. Her father didn't come to visit one night so she flew to the Poison Jungle and her father had told her that hybrids had been forbidden. Her mother had wanted her sister Oak to become a pure Leafwing and her brother Icicle to become a Pure Icewing. Her father had used his Animus powers to do that. Pine's mother, Maple had then tried to kill her causing her to flee.

Brimstone slowed down a bit. She had stopped being followed. As she entered the Poison Jungle she saw a tall tree near her. She saw a dragon hiding in it. As she flew over she saw the dragon was a hybrid. She landed on a branch behind the hybrid and whispered: "Do you need help?"

Pine was so startled by the voice that she about used her frost breath on the dragon. When she turned around she saw the dragon as a hybrid. She had four Rainwing wings and color-shifting black scales. Her long tail was wrapped around the tree branch. "Yes," she sighed. "My father was the only one who cared about me so at first, he was going to shelter me. But then my mother tried to kill me. I was going to go toward Phyrria once the sun rose."
