how do you play the giratina minigame?

First things first: You need a Griseous Orb! (Can be found in boxes, as it says on the Giratina page)

Once you have the orb, I believe you simply go to the page, and follow the instructions. It's been a few years since I've done it myself >>

The actual minigame is 100% random. You need to win it a few times in order to get the Spooky Manor map. I don't remember the details (as I said, it's been about.. 5 years in October), I believe all the mini game consists of is clicking on Giratina when it shows up on your screen. It'll just be the sprite, but you have to be pretty fast.

After you win all the rounds and get the map, you can rumble for the Dark Orb and get your Giratina egg at the Ancient Cave : D

The wiki doesn't go into huge detail on the actual mini game, but you'll know when it's happening for sure (:

The screen I have is unown spelling out words. and be careful in regular letters on the top

That's normal, it's just a sign that the quest is active. When browsing the site, completely randomly, you'll get the minigame. The screen will have a dark filter on it and Giratina sprites will appear around the screen- hope that you'll get a good spawn seed because sometimes it doesn't even spawn the required amount of Giratinas in one minigame.

There are multiple phases of the minigame, the next phase requiring you to click more Giratinas than the last. I don't remember how much/how many they are but the last minigame requires you to click 100 Giratinas.

so I cant see all the giratineas on my laptop when they appear should I just sell the orb and buy a second giratina

What I do is zoom the page out all the way, or possibly refresh a small page until the minigame goes into play then zoom out all the way. It takes time, but eventually you'll get the hang of it! ^-^
