Location Hunts


What do I mean with a Location Hunt?

To structure my Shiny Hunts somewhat, and to have a bit of a pool to choose from, I want to do a hunt which is centered around a location from the mainline games. This means picking a region, and then randomly picking a location in that region. Then, I will hunt every Pokémon from that location (except those I already have, obviously). And after that, I pick the next.

Exceptions to Location Hunts: Legends, Roaming Legends, SMs (if Gems are an issue), Pokémon with more complicated hunting mechanisms (Vivillon comes to mind).


First location hunt: Route 6 (Unova) - Tall Grass, Rustling Grass, Dark Grass, Surfing, Fishing, Swarm Encounters
February 14th, 2020 - March 14th, 2020



To hunt:
- Deerling (All Seasonal Formes)
- Castform (All Weather Formes)
- Sewaddle
- Foongus
- Pidove
- Vanillite
- Emolga
- Basculin (Red and Blue)
- Poliwag
- Plusle
- Minun
- Shelmet
- Azurill (just 1 shiny at this point)

To be delayed due to Gem shortage after Castform hunt:
- SM Audino
- SM Dunsparce



Second location hunt: Brooklet Hill (Alola) - Tall Grass, Surfing, Fishing
March 27th, 2020 - ongoing



To hunt:
- Wishiwashi (Solo Forme)
- Morelull
- Lillipup
- Wingull
- Dewpider
- Surskit
- Psyduck (1 Shiny, Golduck already caught)
- Tentacool
- Finneon (1 Shiny, Finneon already caught)
- Alomomola

To be delayed due to volume of necessary Water Gems:
- SM Swampert
- SM Milotic
