"I understand. We'll let you
rest." He said, stepping over to the door and preparing to leave.
"I get rather tired when I'm unable to use mine as well." He
added.
*The skitmin leaped off and began to scratch their ear with their
hind leg*
“Well.. I don’t mind going back to the room. Though you never
really gave me a name... you guys been calling me ‘Skitmin’ when we
met”
"Ah, I wasn't exactly in my
right mind when we met. Sorry." he said, heading to your room and
opening the door. "It there anything you'd like to be called?" he
asked, not really knowing any good names at the
moment.
“Yea... before I met you I was visiting a flower field we used to
enjoy playing... but then some person tried shooting a bullet
behind me. I have to run, I ended up in the stream... and that’s
where I found you..”
*They began to rub their eyes with their little paws*
“She was my best friend...”
"Ah..." He closed his eyes,
understanding all too well how it felt to lose someone you were
close to. "Well... I might be able to help out... If you want me
to, that is." He said, a small smile on his face. "I only need to
know a few things first though." He knelt down, gently scratching
you in hope of cheering you up a bit.
"Just three things, really. How
was she lost, where we can possibly find her, and was she religious
at all?" he said, counting them off as if he's done this
before.
*they back away and looked down*
“...she’s gone... about a week ago... I visited the field caused I
missed her..”
*tears started to form on their eyes*
". . . I see." He said. He
fully sat down on the floor, picking you up and setting you in his
lap to comfort you. "I know it's hard. To suddenly be without
someone that you seemingly spent all your time with. When they're
gone... you feel lost. With no idea of what you're supposed to do."
He pet you, and gently rubbed your back.
"Sometimes... sometimes I forget that they're gone. And when I
remember... it makes it worse." He sympathized, tears starting to
form in his own eyes.
*Patches gave him a sudden hug as they started to cry*
“I-I *sniff* don’t wanna *hic* lose anyone else.. I don’t *hic*
wanna lose you *sniff* guys aswell”
He was taken aback by the
sudden affection. But after a moment he hugged them back. "Don't
worry... We won't be losing anyone else." He said softly, overcome
the all too familiar feeling of loss. 'I'm sorry... I never
meant to... to kill you... A-aselyn...' he apologized,
tears falling from his face.
*Patches continues to cry until they suddenly collapse in his arms.
Did they pass out? Or maybe they were too tired? Or perhaps, their
time was up. But they were still breathing, fast*
Lu was surprised by this. Then,
he began to panic. "Oh no... no no no, what do I do?" He got up,
cradling Patches in his arms. "Food, water? Herbs? Magic?" he
didn't know what to do. He entered his room, setting them down on
his desk after swiping aside his books and papers.
He got the water dish, nearly spilling it and setting it next to
them along with the food. Then he searched for his bag, getting out
a few different plants and liquids. "Hhhhhhhhhhh....." His
expression was one of worry.
*Patches breathing started to go back at a regular pace as they
stretched, they just past out from tiredness, you can see their paw
twitching as they yawned*
He stopped, watching them
closely for a moment before letting out a sigh of relief. "Just
tired..." He said to himself, trying to calm down from his
near-heart attack.
He carefully took everything and put them back in their rightful
places, setting the food and water back on the floor and beginning
to collect his now scattered papers and stack them neatly.
Well, when you're focused on loss, and
getting emotional you tend to jump to
conclusions...
