@Cosmin

So basically a lot like the start of my idea? And I don't think the part about the protagonist being Vietnamese, because first of all, that ay make it seem more realistic, since the main character same from somewhere in the real world, making it look possible. Secondly, I feel that might make it seem directed to Vietnamese people. Even though we need to keep the game simple since we don't have the best computers out there, I like the idea of being able to customize what your character looks like, to avoid the second 'problem'.

Yeah, also, this is first in the 90's, which is why the limited tools. You will eventually progress to the present, and maybe the hypothetical future.

It might be a good base idea though... to have been summoned to fight off demons or to join them, depending on the path you choose your character changes along the way, like subtlety they can get darker in clothing if they side with the demons or make bad choices?

I like your ideas but i think making the protagonist come from a fictional place would be better.

Actaully, I do like the idea of the story changing depending on what decisions in different things, like dialogue or cutscenes.

I have ideas for how the music would also change on what you choose, but my main concern now is if our equipment would be able to handle it. And yeah, it should be a fictional place, sorry for not making that clear

We could make it like most rpgs, and just have different kinds of equipment as the game progresses

I'm pretty sure even on NES hardware we had enough space to make things darker
the problem will be not using too many darkness phases

Ako, good ideas. Also, do not worry about the equipment, first of all, its requirements (if what you had was playable) would be minimal, and if it is not enough power, someone with Better Equipment might handle it, allowing the game to be tested, and published, but since it's (at the time) high requirements, less sales would be made. However, you are completely fine right now, once you start developing the game, i will go pointing out how much requirements does it have.
EDIT: Also, several workarounds can be made, as well as optimization.
EDIT 2: It is indeed possible to release a game your equipment cannot handle, but it may have a lot of bugs because of lacking testing.

'06? that one was rushed. Sonic 2, despite being an excellent game, was rushed, too.

Super Mario World was also rushed but both it and Sonic 2 didn't get many glitches found immediately unlike '06
However, Gamebreaking glitches always surface within time...
Anyway, do you play the role of our boss or just the game?
