Miyah gave the thumbs-up to Simon, smirking, and paid for her meal.
She got up. "Right behind you, Deirdre!" She called, taking off
after her. She opened the door and sprinted out the door without a
second thought. "...Or in front of you, I guess, but either way!"
Deirdre soon tossed the umbrella back to Max and stood in the rain,
laughing. “Feels like Horn!” She grinned up at he sky.
Jenny swallows thickly. Sure, her Mom had been shot recently, and
was still in therapy, along with knife wounds to her face, but that
was a rare event.
Miyah glanced back and rolled her eyes, mumbling something about
slowpokes before entering the bakery. She stretched and looked
around, relishing the smell.
Ness grinned and shifted slightly in her seat, tucking the wrapper
back into her backpack. “Should be interesting to see the results.”
She remarked thoughtfully, speaking around the lollipop. “Good luck
with your cooking, I guess. And ditto-ing JJ.” She grinned.
Max laughed and walked into the bakery. He shook the umbrella out
and closed it before walking over to Miyah. "You know what I could
go for? One of dad's Apricorn cookies." He said thoughtfully and
looked at the sweets.
"Yeah!" Scar said in response to Deirdre and grinned. She ran
through a puddle.
Austin noticed Jenny's concern. He gently placed his hand on her
shoulder. He thought about his mom and the gunshot. "Dad'll keep
her safe. I mean don't you remember the story of when he nearly
died trying to protect her." He said gently. "Not to mention, Mom
would also keep dad safe. They're by far the best team I've seen on
the force."
JJ chuckled at the ditto before exiting the cafe with Joey
following her. The two of them took off to the pokecenter while
trying to avoid getting completely soaked.
Simon smiled at Ness. "Are you gonna go to the bakery?" he asked
curiously as he stood and paid for his food.
Deirdre walked into the bakery. She smiled as she looked around
before focusing on where the food was. Deirdre grinned as she
scanned the display cases and shelves of pastries. "Man, I could
totally stuff my bag with stuff from here." she commented.
"Yeah, I remember that." Jenny nodded. "They'll be fine. We'll call
them tonight, yeah?"
Miyah instantly retreated to the display case. "Max. I'm starting
to warm up to Kalos," She whispered, absolutely enthralled at the
selection. "They have more pastries than New Bark and Three Island
combined."
"One croissant, please," A boy mumbled quietly to the owner,
wincing as he heard himself. Miyah looked over, surprised,
recognizing the voice.
"I won't be!" Deirdre laughed. "I was joking anyway. I'll just buy
a few things. Maybe I'll come back and get a coffee muffin for
breakfast." she smiled gleefully.
"Good." Jenny stands up and opened the café door. "Ready?"
"...Four donuts! Chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and glazed!" Miyah
asked the cashier. She was handed the bag of donuts as the boy was
handed his. "...Milo?"
He looked over. "M-Miyah!" He gasped. "You're in Kalos?"
"Yeah! I never thought you'd leave Two Island," Miyah giggled. Milo
shrugged.
"Yeah we're on out journey. We ran into some old friends and our
cousins. I'm starting to think Dad, mom, Lion, and the others were
in on this." Max joked kindly and smiled at Milo.
Scar looked around the bakery and took a bite of her cookie.
Austin nodded a thanks and smiled. He walked over to the bakery.
