They seem to be just like us. They have abilities as well. I am not sure about there abilities though-thus is just a guess on what I have seen. So the boy can freeze things- probably the air. And the lady? I believe she can teleport. This one is a lot more guessing, but here is why: There footsteps simply vanished when they got to a tree. It was a large tree; bigger than a human in height and width. So her power is likely that she can create portals on solid objects wish are big enough to hold the portal. No one has been blessed by hoops either, so that is likely where her powers came from. There you go.
