Due to budget cuts the town fired them. Poor harvest this year. Thus house arrest was created to save money. It was an effective tactic at first but the introverts found it to be a miniature vacation where they could catch up on Dr.Phil.

This part is a secret though. Rumor has it though that the jail keeper was so upset that they became a super villain.
