Tiger didn't look surprised. "I'm going to guess Lugia fought you
guys?" He asked carefully.
"He said for you not to tell them." Cyndaquil said to Tiger
dryly.
Tiger shook his head in amusement. "Lugia said that two dratini
tried to kill him. Question is where'd
his egg go if Johto doesn't have a guardian? He said you two
fought well." He said kindly to Kair.
Tiger an Cyndaquil exchanged a glance, Tiger jumped out of the tree
he was in, and pet Kair's head. "Yas will be alright. I mean, Lugia
said the move was at full force, and he felt awful about Yas
getting hurt. I'm sure he'll be fine." He said gently, and sat
down. He hadn't been wearing his bandanna today so his burn was
showing from under his sleeve.
Kair looked up and smiled at Tiger. "Yeah! You're right. He's
the strongest pokemon I know! ...Equal to me, though. I think. I
dunno, he's a higher level than me, so I THINK he's stronger? I
dunno. Hey, what's that?" She asked, seeing the burn.
"Yas might be stronger, but he's a gentle nature he'll fight, but
he'll prefer to battle beside friends." Tiger said kindly, "so
you're equally as strong as him." Tiger remarked and smiled he then
flinched at the question before rubbing his arm. "Just an old scar,
I got burnt in my own fight against a legend." He explained
quietly.
"...Legend? Which one? I've heard the stories about a few of
them." Kair asked, perking up tremendously at the thought of
being told another story about the legends.
Tiger blinked, and looked at the sky. He no longer rubbed the burn,
"Ho-Oh. He's Lugia's brother, and the guardian of Ecruteak City. He
brought back three Pokémon from the dead." He began deciding
against telling Kair about Ho-Oh's current situation.
Tiger blinked, "Ho-Oh has the power to revive the dead. He brought
back three Pokémon, a Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon all who
parished in a fire and they came back as three new Pokemon." He
explained telling part of the story he's known since he was three.
Tiger blinked and pulled off a small brown backpack, it was old and
covered in scratches and tares. He then pulled out a story book and
opened it to a page that he bookmarked. "These pokemon are,
Suicune, Raikou, and Entei." He said gently and showed her a
picture of the three legends respectively.
Tiger blinked and dug through the bag once more. He pulled out a
picture, the picture had him, and Lion. A Flareon, Vaporeon, and
Jolteon were sitting in front of them. "Those are Flareon, Jolteon,
and Vaporeon. Lion said kindly and pointed to the pokemon in the
picture.
"Oh, I see how they could be those other three pokemon. Neat
story! But where are all of the legends, anyway? Are they real? If
they are real, how do they hide so well?" Kair had a million
questions at the ready, but decided on those three to start.
Tiger laughed in gentle amusement and reached for his neck. He took
a necklace off his neck which held his silver wing. "Legends are
real, and they can hide really well. Lugia lives in the ocean, the
legendary beasts hide in the Burnt Tower, and Ho-Oh" he trailed off
and blinked as if he were going to continue the sentence. "Ho-Oh
lives in the tin tower." He said quickly. "This is Lugia's summons
item, and it's called the Silver Wing. They need to hide well to
make sure trainers don't capture them so they can keep the peace in
the regions."
"Summon item? Wait, so if they don't want trainers catching
them, why do you have his summon item? Isn't that like catching
him?" Kair asked, sniffing at the Silver Wing.
Tiger blinked and shook his head. "I have Lugia's summons item
because I earned it. There's only one summons per legend, and I got
mine because." He trailed off. "Well it's a long story." He said
quietly and exchanged a glance with Cyndaquil. "Anyway Lugia gave
me his summons because he not only helped raise be, but because he
knows I wouldn't abuse the power of holding onto it." He said
kindly. "I'd never dream of catching Lugia, I only want to help
keep Johto safe. And I know if I need help, then Lugia will be
there for me when I call upon him with the silver wing."
"I get it. So every legend has a summon? And they've all given
those items to trainers? And Lugia RAISED you? That's so cool! And
weird. But why?" Kair asked, turning in circles excitedly. She
was fascinated.
Tiger shifted his weight as if in discomfort. "You don't have to
tel-" Cyndaquil began but Tiger shook his head.
"It's fine bud." Tiger said gently and yawned. "About four years
ago, I was in the forest with a friend, and our region's professor
when someone took a friend of mine away, I ran after them, and
tried to save him, but failed. Moments later, Lugia crashed into
the clearing and I took a move for him saving his life. Lugia let
me stay in the forest for a year, and I was raised alongside Kit
and Tally, a Ninetales and Shiny Vulpix who live in this forest."
He explained gently only summarizing the story.
