The path was long, and it took several minutes before, at last, it
gave way to a wide-open chamber. A shining sphere of light floated
in midair in the center, sending pulses of energy and wind outwards
every once in a while.
Gallade continued to look at the sphere of light, which suddenly
began sending pulses of energy and wind at a much faster rate. It
shifted erratically in size, until, after a final burst of light,
it was replaced with a bipedal shape that was vaguely humanoid but
mostly feline, and standing in the center of the room. It was still
made of pure white light, and thus, its coloration was impossible
to tell. "That, Lucario, is your opponent. He is the manifestation
of the Aura of a much greater power, whose skill I cannot hope to
match. I believe that fighting him will be the best way for you to
learn how to separate your Aura from your physical form to fight in
a similar form to his. I will watch your fight, but your only
chance of victory lies not in help from me but in observing him and
learning from it, and so I will not provide advice to you during
the fight. I wish you the best of luck."
The Aura leapt towards Lucario once again, but was hit by the Aura
Sphere before it could strike with the Fighting-type move a second
time, causing it to release its charge.
The Aura was sent backwards in the powerful blast of Aura energy.
From there, it immediately raised its arms and smashed them into
the ground, darkening the air and releasing a pulse of yellow
energy across the now-shifting and quaking earth.
