My opinion is cat is just a martyr. They just try to defense themselves of the error they commited. And they accuse Prim just because Prim is too much into voting cat.
Prim, you ask them for proofs. But obviously there are no proofs that show you as Townie as well. They at least claimed an important role... But what about you?
You talk about getting voted after voting cat if they end up being the Vigilante. Why would you do that? If you were a Townie that would be even a completely loss for us. You care that much for townies to win XD?
Wouldn't the real Vigilante had targeted cat if they weren' Vigilantet? I think that's completely logic, but it didn't happen. Though, the Godfather is active and it's probably one of you. And we're focusing on lynching an innocent.

From here comes speculation. I think Prim is Mafia (Godfather maybe) and they just want to lynch the Vigilante, considering they got an opportunity to make the others believe that cat is Mafia, while they lynch someone else.
Why do they ask to get voted after cat? Maybe they are nor really important, or maybe it's just a strategy to make us believe that voting cat was a mistake, and I'm sure other people will believe that and defend Prim in order not to get them lynched.
It's quite risky but I find Prim the kind of user who would do that, as they know really well how to play. Considering no other Mafia is active besides Atavan, they need to act quickly. And, why don't they vote Atavan? They prefer to vote cat before voting a confirmed Mafia.

If I really was mafia, why would I ask the guard to protect the only role that could expose the Godfather though? It's hard to find out the Godfather, but with Nagito being able to see who targeted a certain user we can find out the Godfather this night. I don't know if someone who really is mafia would do that, but okay.
I guess I'll just go with you then and vote Atavan. //shrug
We'll see what the Night Results say. Might as well give cat another chance to prove their role:

Lightning Rod - A neutral/third party
(same thing) role that redirects all night actions (except
lynching) into them.
Zombie Lord - The leader of the Zombies. Unlike the Cult Leader, they force a selected person to become part of the Zombies at night. They get to know the person's role and username when zombified.
Cult Leader - At night, they select a person and I will ask that person if they want to join the Cult. Pretty much a passive version of the Zombie Lord.
Hidden - A third party role whose function is unknown to everyone, and the person that the function was directed to too. However, their function can be discovered by overanalyzing the night results, maybe.
Multiple User Personality - A mafia role who does something different to a selected person every night.
