Ho-Oh growled, and flew up. He grasped Volt in his talons, only
getting a minimum amount of the volt tackle. He was then hit with
the water gun, and he retaliated with a brave bird. Cyndaquil
looked at Tiger, and used a flamethrower in the ground to try and
reach Ho-Oh, and free Raichu.
Victor had waited just for that to happen to Volt.
"Volt, latch into Ho-Oh's throat with Iron Tail!" He shouted at his
loudest voice in the air.
Blaze looked at Volt in awe, inspired by the Raichu and Ho-oh.
"Cyn. Cyndaquil. (I want to become like them.)" He said pointing at
the battle. Victor looked at the Cyndaquil's signs and got the gist
of what he wanted to say.
"I'll train you just like I trained Volt." Victor assured Blaze.
Blaze hugged his new trainer.
Volt latched onto Ho-oh's throat and back with his long tail so
that the Fire type couldn’t throw him, or hurt him without
suffering serious consequences.
Ho-Oh growled, and used a sacred fire. He let go of Volt in the
process of using the move, throwing him off, and only getting
scratched on the neck. Cyndaquil was then hit by the sacred fire,
and fell back hitting the ground hard.
Volt gave a squeak and tried to latch onto anything he could find.
His paws clung to Ho-oh's Wings. The Raichu ripped quite a few
feathers out accidentally, and used his tail to try and climb onto
Ho-oh's back. The Raichu didn’t want to face death by falling
down.
Victor looked at the feathers and grew slightly worried. "Volt,
cling there and don’t worry!" He encouraged his starter.
Tiger bit back a growl, and grabbed Cyndaquil. The Pokemon was
alive, but fainted. The trainer then sighed, and looked at the sky.
"Lugia please save Volt before Ho-Oh throws him to his death" he
whispered very very quietly. The rain then grew more intense, and
Ho-Oh used a flamethrower on his wing to throw Volt off. A flash of
silver then grabbed Volt off Ho-Oh, and brought him to safety
beside Victor. Lugia landed a little ways off.
Volt was glad to be rescued by Lugia.
Victor looked at the unknown entity rescuing Volt. "Er.. thanks."
He said nervously.
Volt stood by his trainer, having lost a fair share of health.
Victor put Blaze down and patted Volt, and used a potion on the
Raichu.
"It's Lugia" the legend said distractedly, and went
back up to fight Ho-Oh. Tiger sighed in relief, and glanced over to
Volt. Thank Arceus...Lugia heard me Tiger thought in relief.
The Ho-Oh then growled, and was knocked back by the water gun
Oshawatt shot off.
Victor waved a thanks to Lugia, after figuring out the name, and
looked at the legends battling.
"Hey, do you know something about Lugia and Ho-oh, Tiger?" Victor
asked Tiger. He had heard Tiger's name from Elm, and decided to use
it.
Tiger looked over to Victor, and shook his head. "Nope all I know
is at they're the guardians of Johto...though something happened to
Ho-Oh a few ye-err months ago" he said quickly. Lugia glanced at
Tiger, and nodded slowly. He then flew up, and used a hydro pump on
Ho-Oh knocking the fire bird back.
Tiger sighed in partial relief. I won't be able to hide what I
know forever...but I can try to he thought to himself sharply.
Ho-Oh then screeched "this isn't over" he said crossly, and
flew off in defeat. Lugia followed Ho-Oh swiftly, and glanced at
Tiger before leaving.
Volt translated Ho-oh's speech for Victor's benefit.
"Looks like that Ho-Oh really hates everyone." Victor said. "By the
way, I need a new Pokedex which will be able to identify Johto
Pokemon. I'd die out of curiosity if I don’t get one.
"By the way I'm Victor, and you're Tiger, aren't you?" Victor said
as he went with Tiger towards the lab. The rain dance had now ended
and Shine was trailing with his trainer happily.
Tiger nodded "yeah I'm Tiger. Nice to meet you. So uh...what
exactly happened to your Cyndaquil if I can ask. I know Flare
attacked him with water types, but how badly was he attacked?" He
asked in concern. He looked at his own Cyndaquil who was passed out
in his arms.
"It was pretty bad, as you can see..." Victor trailed off as he
looked at the bandages covering Blaze. "It was almost like torture.
They were attacking him relentlessly. I personally think they
wanted to exert Cyndaquil a lot, since they used the type advantage
and strong water Pokemon. How many times have you seen an
organisation called Flare use water types of all things? I'm
surprised his ability didn’t activate. I think Cyndaquil's ability
is also called Blaze usually."
Tiger nodded, and looked at the Pokemon quietly. "At least it
doesn't seem that he lost his ability to evolve..." He said
quietly. "Maybe Blaze has a different ability?" He suggested kindly
thinking of hidden abilities on Pokemon. "After all Cyndaquil can
have the hidden ability of flash fire"
“I don’t have any other Fire types at the moment, though I’ve got a
charizard at Oak’s lab. Maybe your Cyndaquil could try a mild Fire
move when Blaze is recovered to check.” Victor said, then he heard
the bit about evolution. “Your Cyndaquil cannot evolve?” He asked
in the kindest way possible so as to not hurt the other trainer.
