Tiger nodded obviously trying not to pry "alright then...how much
did you hear" he asked wondering how much of his conversation with
Cyndaquil he heard.
Tiger sighed, and decided to tell her. "The silver wing is what
they are after. The people who took Ho-Oh have been looking for the
silver wing so they can control Lugia as well. If I give them Lugia
then they could control all of Johto." he said quietly. "And I
can't allow that...Lugia gave me the silver wing in order to
protect my home" he said lowly and glanced around at the group
hoping they hadn't heard.
Roy, half asleep, didn't acknowledge the question at first, but
then answered. "Huh? Oh, that? Uh, it came from my time training
with Koga. Self-defense and all that."
"Yes Team Rocket" Tiger said lowly. "And I plan on defeating
them...they've been holding onto Ho-Oh for eight years now, and I
plan to put a stop to it." He said quietly.
Mel nodded. "That's pretty cool. My dad wanted me to learn self
defense, but my mom didn't think so. She said it wouldn't be
needed. Guess where I am now, thanks mom." She snorted and spread
her arms, gesturing to the trees. "So if we get attacked, you're
gonna have to teach me how to successfully punch someone."
Tiger shrugged "Well after this fight in Goldenrod. I'm going to go
and try to keep the others safe by going off by myself..." he
admitted lowly. "After that I'm going to get stronger..." he
replied, and noticed Heart was afraid. He then sighed, and
remembered what Lugia told him many years ago. "We all need to take
risks in life, and we might face dangers. I understand if you want
to leave the group, but you can't get stronger if you hide all the
time...at least that's what Lugia told me" he said quietly hoping
to reassure her.
"Well.." Heart sighs. "I'm used to hiding all the time, because I'm
always afraid.."
Bloom, who was on Heart's shoulder the whole time spoke up. "If
you're scared, don't worry, I, Tiger, and the rest of these
trainers are your friends!"
Heart smiles. "Thank you.."
Oshawott looked up from his spot on Mel's shoulder. "What about
the rest of the trainers?" He began to bristle defensively,
having only caught the last part of the conversation. He
immediately began to think of a trap or something.
Mel looked at Oshawott in confusion, not understanding the water
type.
Tiger nodded in agreement with Bloom, and sighed. "I know it can be
scary...matter of fact I'm afraid the others will get hurt. Though
we can't live in fear..." he whispered. He then looked up, and saw
Goldenrod city. "We're here" he said lowly.
Tiger nodded in response to Roy, and went over to the shop. He was
planning on getting to the roof, and seeing if he could see any
signs of Ho-Oh from there.
"WOO! GYM LEADER TRAINEE PERKS ARE AWESOME!" screamed Roy as he
rode out on his new bike. It was the latest model, and he had
managed to get it for free.
Tiger nodded, and laughed at Roy's enthusiasm at getting a bike for
free. He then sighed, and walked into the shop in silence. He then
headed to a counter, and bought some potions. Don't get to
comfortable around them...I'll have to abandon the group
soon... he thought sadly, and took the potions from the clerk.
"Thanks" he said kindly, his voice faltering his emotion.
