Kyfron's Lopunny nearly dodged in time, though was grazed by the Psycho Cut which still did a significant amount of damage. Kyfron ignored Nick's question and commanded his Lopunny to then attack with another Dizzy Punch, hoping this time it would cause the secondary effect of confusion as he commonly says "third time's the charm".

Alakazam, confused, hit Lopunny with another Psycho Cut but not before accidently hurting itself. "Alakazam! Finish it then with Psychic!" Nick commanded.

Lopunny took the attacks head on and fainted, its Mega appearance disappearing as it did. Kyfron returned the Pokemon and nervously clutched his next Pokeball. "Drapion, Night Slash!" he shouted whilst sending out his next Pokemon who immediately executed the attack. "Toxic Spikes!" he called, hoping the Alakazam wouldn't be able to attack until after he set up the entry hazard and poisonous fluid filled the battlefield.

Nick, calling back her Alakazam, sent out her Drapion. "Earthquake!" She commanded, grinning at the Black Sludge in Drapion's clutches.

Kyfron strained when Nick's Drapion attacked with an Earthquake, realizing his knew no Ground-type moves. After taking the Super-effective hit, Kyfron returned Drapion in order to preserve its health and sent out partner, Gabite. "Fight back with your Earthquake!" Kyfron commanded, using its typing and Life Orb to boost the attack.

Likewise, Nick's Drapion took the hit, as she sent out her final (And strongest) Pokrmon, Banette. "Mega evolve and use cotton guard!!" Nick commanded, her key stone around her neck reacting to the Banetteite on Bamette's neck. "Now! Shadow Claw!"

“Gabite, counter it with Dragon Claw!” He called, his partner obeying matching each strike against Nick’s Banette’s attacks though allowing itself to get striked purposely in order to activate its ability, Rough Skin, against it.

Banette took recoil damage, but Dragon Claw didn't do much due to Banette's high defense stat due to cotton guard. "Now! Dazzling Gleam!" Nick commanded with a smirk.

Gabite fell on the ground due to its exhaustion and injuries after being hit with a Dazzling Gleam. “Gabite, Earthquake!” Kyfron called and the Dragon & Ground-type executed the move before fainting from the effects of its Life Orb.

Kyfron allowed Gabite to get hit by the Shadow Sneak, fainting. He sent out his Drapion once more and had it attack immediately with Pin Missile.

Kyfron simply chuckled at Nick's remark, returning his fainted Drapion to its Pokeball.
"This is a mere learning experience and I learned a lot first hand; I'm still coming for you officially in the Indigo League." he warned, his Gabite, still extremely weak from fainting, popped out of her Pokeball and exclaimed, showing her willpower.

Mila rushed to the Stadium Entrance panting. "I hope I'm not too late..." she told herself, hearing the cheering from the crowd to indicate she was.

Kyfron looked down at Nick's hand and paused, dramatically. He then sighed and accepted the handshake.
"It won't be as easy next time, Nicole." he teased.

Aditsan and PJ analyzed the once bitter enemies shaking hands, expecting quite the opposite reaction from a loss so close.

Mila sighed and took a seat in the crowd; Kyfron returned to the stands to watch the next battle after healing his Pokemon.
