"Here," Sorrow tossed the old helmet over to Mira, "Sig said you
could have it back. Dunno if you know what happened to him, Alomara
injured his shoulder." He sighed, "But, it's good to have you back
kiddo." Sorrow stepped over to Mira, gently putting his hand on her
head, his other arm hugging her.
"Thanks," Mira hugged back and smiled at her old helmet. "...I
still need to clean this thing out, actually..." She made a face at
the blood and dents on it.
Sorrow sat next to Mira, leaning against her. He sighed, hearing
more rumbling from the Beacon, "Maybe we should check that out when
we get done here."
Mira tilted her head at the new gear. "...I'll stick with my old
one," She pushed the helmet away. "But I'll take the buster... At
least until I can find my old one again."
"What's up with that, anyway?" She asked Sorrow, sliding the gun
onto her arm.
"The Beacon, dunno, it's been changing colors and becoming more
frequent, just shooting into space. Maybe, some sorta portal?" He
shook his head, "I couldn't give you an answer."
"The Forgotten City was full of mystery, however, it was a home to
an extremely intelligent and powerful race of humanoid beings,
however, when the crystal went missing, the City crashed, causing
that race to go extinct." He looked at Mira, then over to Amara.
"And, I'm sure it's still regaining the power it had before, and
restoring whatever data it can muster. I've read a few journals at
Erans' den written by a mysterious explorer who didn't reveal his
name, the document was charred. I'm pretty curious however, to know
who it was." Sorrow sighed, "But, that's not as important at the
moment."
"We should go check out that beacon; we could find something
important there. It could be a villain," Mira pointed out, charging
up a blast and firing at the wall. "Ugh, this is weird; I can't
wait to get my old one back..."
"I'm sure I left your blaster at the village." He jumped outside
the hole in the wall, looking a the color of the beacon, "At first
it was Blue, then Green, now it's Purple? Jeez."
"I doubt it. They don't seem to change often." He started to think
back about the notes he read. "I think it was mainly aesthetic.
Something that looked futuristic for that time. Nowadays lasers are
a nice touch to a base or something."
