Everyone starts just having finished combat training; you're about
to receive your equipment.
Mira entered the large auditorium and sat down in a chair. Her arms
still ached from the last training session not even three minutes
ago, and sweat dripped down her forehead.
Tiger sat down in the auditorium. He was slightly panting from his
training session, he had a few new scratches on him. His left eye
had a scratch along the side of it, it caused him to keep it
slightly closed, but he knew it wasn't damaged. He sighed in
relief, and looked around the room.
Mira looked around at everyone who had just sat down. Most people
had a general idea of which fallen hero they'd represent, but she
had absolutely no idea. One had a creepy skill of sneaking up on
people and attacking them from behind. Assassin's Creed.
Another had huge arms and was obsessed with throwing barrels.
Donkey Kong. Duh. She glanced over to the girl who had just
beat Donkey Kong. She'll get something good,
definitely...
She, however, didn't fit into an exact categorey of weapons or
fighting style. Fingers crossed I get something good, I
guess.
Kiris looked around again. She noticed one of the guys behind her
staring at her. Dumb ass. What's he staring at?!
Dirk looked around again, trying to figure out everyone's fighting
styles. He smiled when he saw one of the girls trying to shimmy out
from her seat and grab one of the gold light fittings. Lara
Croft, hands down.
Holly is leaning against a wall with her arms folded and her head
down. She is contemplating her possible equipment and weapons.
Hopefully they are good and not prone to needing constant
maintenance.
Tiger looked back at the front of the auditorium. I wonder what
I'll get.... he thought to himself. He rubbed his arm where
some of the fabric of his tunic was ripped away. Next time
though...those Moblins won't get my arm he thought crossly, and
remembered how he had to snatch a sword from a Moblin in order to
defend himself.
A man stepped onto the stage. "Good day, recruits. You've all done
a fine job in training, and today, I am pleased to announce you
will all be graduating and receiving your hero ranks."
Mira whistled in the sea of applause that followed.
Sorrow leaned against one of the side walls, looking at the man.
"Twelve years... Uncle Regret, I finally understand why we
trained so much, you knew, didn't you? A world of terror..." He
closed his eyes, remembering to when he was a child.
Holly listens while reminiscing her life and childhood. She doesn't
know what made her decide to train for what she is now. But she
chose and now all she can do is keep on keeping on. Nothing else to
do.
Sorrow pulled out the small locket tucked in his shirt, opening it.
On the inside was a photo of him and Regret, his father's face was
scorched out. That photo was taken when he was just 5. "I never
quite got to meet you, father." He muttered to himself. "Now
look at me, 18, and looking toward being a warrior."
The man motioned for the crowd to quiet down. "As such, we'll be
calling each of you up one by one to receive your hero title and
equipment. First up... Kiris Rings."
Mira chuckled slightly at the applause and watched.
"Kiris, you've shown an exceptional skill in weaponry and vehicles.
We have a hero for you to represent," The man stepped back and
grabbed a box. "We have assigned you to TRON. We wish you good luck
in your fight."
He gave the box containing Kiris' new outfit and equipment. "Next
up, Holly Grace Winters."
Holly keeps her head down. She is listening. Even if it looks like
she isn't. She is. She looks up at the man and walks over silently.
Not showing malice. But not showing joy. Just a really convincing
poker face.
Kiris bowed as the crowd cheered again, then ran back up to her
seat grinning from ear to ear. She opened her box. Cool outfit,
sweet gear... and keys?! LIGHTCYCLE KEYS?! This was epic.
Dirk peered over Kiris' shoulder. She had gotten a lot of cool
things! He couldn't wait to see what he had gotten.
((Funny story: Dirk was actually gonna be a Lara Croft based dude,
but I like Shovel Knight better))
"Holly, you've shown a great acrobatic skill. We have a hero for
you to represent," He stepped back again and grabbed a different
box with somewhat different markings. "We have assigned you to
represent Rubi Malone. We wish you good luck in your fight. Next
up, Tiger."
"Equipment huh? Wonder how different these things will be from back
home." Sorrow looked at Holly, "That one over there, something's up
with her, lifeless? Nah, couldn't be." He slowly shifted over to
Holly, nudging her, "Hey, you alright?"
