DesertClan (Roleplay)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → DesertClan (Roleplay)"I'll be fine!" Feathercloud called softly, ignoring the medicine cat. "Besides, I've got plenty of energy. We're gonna need fresh kill sooner or later." She bounded away.
"I give up." Greenbush sighed and trudged back into the medicine cat den.
Duskwind looked back into the leader's den as Flamestar spoke, " Hawkpool wanted to speak with you, " he mewed, and gestured to Hawkpool with his tail.
Mudfeather was near the nursery where the rogues broke in, she was weaving brambles, and thorns into the hole to refortify the wall. Her pelt was slightly scratched, and her paws had thorns in them, but she was one of the least wounded warriors in the camp.
Hawkpool dipped her head to her leader "Icestar I was wondering if I can join a hunting patrol. DesertClan will need the prey to heal their wounded warriors" she asked gently.
Icestar glanced at Flamestar who nodded, he then flicked his tail slightly irritated by the idea Icestar proposed, but he couldn't turn the offer down due to how hurt his warriors were. "Hawkpool can you get Firestrike, Graysky, and Froststone and ask them to stay here for a couple moons? If DesertClan are to heal they'll need a few spare warriors, and if anything happens you can just lead the clan to our camp for help." Icestar meowed gently, and flicked her ear towards Flamestar who was licking a wound on his chest.
Dawnpelt padded towards Mudfeather, sitting near where she worked. " Thank you for working on this so soon. We can't be too careful. " she mewed. " This must be some first night as a warrior for you, " Dawnpelt said, proud of the young warrior for holding up her own.
Dawnpelt observed the interesting dynamic between the two clan leaders. " We are grateful for your help, " he mewed softly, looking from Icestar to Hawkpool. I'll be sharing a den with Hawkpool for a few moons?, the thought stood out in his mind. He shook his head, and faced his leader. " I'm going to swing by the medicine cat's den before going on the hunting patrol. They may need more supplies, " he mewed. And I'm going to send Tigerstripe up here..., he added silently to himself.
Mudfeather nodded to Dawnpelt. "I just wanted the kits to stay safe..." She meowed distractedly, and pulled a vine around a bundle of thorns. "I recommend telling Flowerheart not to let the kits go to the back of the nursery. At least not until I can pad up the thorns that'll be sticking out st the back." She warned the queen kindly.
Flamestar nodded to show he had heard. "After that can you find some healthy cats to go with the PineClan warriors in a hunt. I don't want to make the patrols bigger than they can get, but with the rogues still running the forest we need to send bigger patrols" he mewled gently.
Feathercloud had managed to round up a few rabbits and a few mice, burying them before continuing on her hunt. She was guessing the attack had scared off most of the prey, which would explain the lack of sound in the forest.
Dawnpelt nodded, " Thank you, Mudfeather. I'll make a note of that, " she said, " We'll do more camp repairs at first light. You may get some rest for now, " Dawnpelt insisted.
Duskwind nodded, and padded down the tall rock towards the medicine cat's den. He walked by the raspberry bush and into the den, looking for Tigerstripe. " Hey, " he mewed. " Flamestar need's some attention, I think, " he said. He looked at Ashpelt resting in his mossy nest. " Ashpelt, how you feeling?," he mewed.
Mudfeather nodded, mand stretched. "Alright. I reccomend you get some rest to though. You look exhausted, and if your tired you might not be able to help your kits or the clan as well as you could." She meowed gently, and nudged Dawnpelt kindly. "How's Ashpelt. Err if it's alright for me to ask?"
Ashpelt raised his head from his nest sleepily. Before he could reply, Tigerstripe placed a paw gently on his shredded ear. "He needs to rest" she meowed kindly, and got to her paws. "I'll check on Flamestar now, could you get Ashpelt some water? I think there's some moss still by the rock near the stream." She asked kindly, and padded out of the den.
Feathercloud yawned and decided it was probably time to head back, at least for a bit. She scampered back to the last place she'd been and unburied the mouse, doing the same for the other mouse and the two rabbits before struggling back to the camp and padding to where the freshkill pile was, dropping the prey.
Dawnpelt did indeed feel as exhausted as she looked. She just wanted to make sure the clan was taken care of before she took care of herself. " Ashpelt is resting in the medicine cat's den, he's....a bit roughed up. " she said. " But, I have faith in our medicine cats, " she added. " Speaking of which, I think I should get some herbs for myself, " she mewed. Dawnpelt stood up stiffly, " You may choose to resume your vigil or not, " she said. " I believe Starclan has approved of your warrior status, "
Duskwind nodded and padded to the stream, dipping the moss ball gently into the waters. He carried the ball carefully back to Ashpelt, nudging it near to his head. " I'll be getting some food for you guys, don't get into any more battles, " he mewed, and padded out of the den. He headed towards Hawkpool and the other Pineclan warriors. " IF anyone is still standing on their paws, join the hunting patrol, " he meowed loudly for the camp to hear.
Mudfeather nodded, and stretched. She then heard Duskwind, and decided to go on the hunting patrol before she went to rest. "I'll go on a hunting patrol before I sleep. Though I promise I'll get some rest here soon" she meowed to Dawnpelt and went off to Duskwind.
Hawkpool nodded, and stretched. "I'll go with you" she meowed gently. Graysky ran over, and smiled "same here it's been a bit since I've been hunting around here" he meowed kindly.
Ashpelt began to drink the water from the moss. His thoughts began to drift to Dawnpelt, and his kits. He then pushed the wet moss ball away from him, and lay his muzzle on his paws once more. He then saw Stoneleaf walk into the medicine den, he placed the left over marigold on the small pile of herbs.
Duskwind looked at the gathering patrol approvingly. " Alright, let's go before it gets too late. I'm sure everyone's asleep on their paws, " he meowed, leading the cats out through the bramble tunnel and into the forest.
Hawkpool, and Graysky nodded before following Duskwind out of camp. "So what kind of prey runs around here?" Hawkpool asked Duskwind gently.
Dawnpelt placed a paw gently on Ashpelt as he licked her wounds, " Don't worry about me, you need to lie still. I'm afraid the rest of your fur is going to fall out, " she said gently, purring softly.
"Trout?" Hawkpool meowed in confusion. "We don't have many of those around the mountains"
Ashpelt nodded, and lay down once more. He glanced at Dawnpelt before replying in a quiet tone. "How can I not worry about you? I mean after Bramblekit was taken, and we left the gathering all I could think of was keeping you three safe" he meowed quietly, and closed his eyes.
Dawnpelt purred, " I'm fine now, you fought hard enough for a whole clan, " she insisted. " After Greenbush and Tigerstripe tend to the others who are more injured, then I'l allow them to look me over." Just the act of sitting down was allowing her body to relax finally. Her paws and legs ached and the cut on her face stung, but she was relieved that no one was taken to Starclan this day.
Ashpelt nodded, and sighed "alright" he mewed quietly. "Though I'd feel better if you got looked at soon. That wound on your muzzle looks bad" he said with a yawn.
Duskwind flicked his tail and amusement and padded onwards after Hawkpool. The sounds of the river could be heard before it could be seen, as Duskwind walked through a clump of bracken onto the river's edge. The moonlight was glittering off of the water as it rippled past him. " The trick is to watch for a glint of light when one comes near the surface, " he said. " Careful not to cast a shadow, or it will see you...," he mewed as he crouched low on the riverbank. Soon, he saw a silver edge break the surface of the water, and he scooped the trout onto the bank. He bit the fish's head, killing it. " See? Easy. These are no hawks, " he said through the fish in his mouth.
Hawkpool nodded, and looked into the water. She then saw the pink scales of a salmon. Quickly flashing a paw into the water the same way Duskwind did, she pulled out a salmon, and killed it. The texture of the fish was much different from what she was use to and it almost slid into the water.
Duskwind laughed as Hawkpool clumsily handled the salmon. " You got it!, but make sure to get a clawhold on them, their slippery, " he mewed. Duskwind placed his fish on a small pile of leaves, and crouched by the riverbank to look for more fish.
