DesertClan (Roleplay)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → DesertClan (Roleplay)Duskwind ran directly to the nursery, padding by his clan mates licking their wounds and assessing the damage. He saw Dawnpelt and Feathercloud speaking inside and stood by the entrance. " Woah, Feathercloud. I hope the other cat looks worse, " he mewed, trying to tease his friend.
"Other six?" Greenbush asked in amusement as Feathercloud ducked in. "Stay still. It's not that deep, so you can keep your eye. You'll be missing a bit of fur there for a few suns, at most."
"My favorite part of my fur!" Feathercloud gasped. "What will I do without it?!"
Greenbush flicked a chunk of moss at her before placing a bit of marigold over the gash, and then cobweb. "Anything else?"
"Nah, I'm fine. You shoulda seen the other cats."
"Oh yeah, I'm sure they were cowering in terror."
Tigerstripe finished wrapping the worst of Ashpelt's wounds, an with Hawkpool's help they brought Ashpelt to camp. They walked at a slower pace so the injured warrior wasn't in to much pain.
Dawnpelt nodded, closing her eyes with relief. Alive is good, she thought. " Thank you, Duskwind,[/i]" she said, opening her eyes. She walked out of the nursery and into the medicine cat's den, standing before Greenbush and Feathercloud.
"Greenbush," she mewed. " Could you come to the nursery? I think Flowerheart and Bramblekit need some assistance, " Dawnpelt was finally feeling the sting of her wounds, her eye's wincing from the slash over her muzzle. That will leave an attractive scar..., she thought to herself.
Feathercloud dipped her head to both cats before padding out and sitting down to lick her paw, trying to decide what brought up the attack, and why were they going after the nursery, leave the kits and queens out of it!
Sunkit uncurled from the tight ball she had assumed and nudged her brother, getting close to him. “ I was worried I would never see you again,” she cried.
Bramblekit looked at Sunkit, and was still slightly afraid. "I-I didn't think I would see you again either" he admitted in a sad mewl.
Sunkit was shaking as she sidled up next to her brother. "I don't think I've ever been more afraid, " she mewed. " What happened to you after you were...taken?," she asked, afraid to hear the answer.
"I-I don't want to talk about it" Bramblekit mewled quietly, and drew his ears back. He was still unaware that Ashpelt would survive all he could remember was the fight, and Ashpelt yelling for him to escape.
Dawnpelt gently guided her mate to the nest that Hawkpool had set up in the medicine cat's den. She sat beside him, trying to make him feel as comfortable as she could. " Can I bring herbs to Flowerheart and the kits? You seem like you will have your paws full, " she mewed to the medicine cats.
Ashpelt settled down in the nest, and pressed his muzzle to Dawnpelt's flank briefly before he lay on his side. He listened to the conversation that the others were having.
Bramblekit nodded "w-when Sandfeather dropped me to the ground, she set a trap for us." He meowed quietly, and shivered. "I-I though Ashpelt and I would join StarClan until Ashpelt told me to run..." He whispered.
Flowerheart curled close to the two kits, and began to groom Bramblekit gently, "you're safe now little one. Don't worry. The other warriors will patch up that hole in the wall, and there will be more warriors guarding the den." She meowed gently trying to reassure the small kit.
Sunkit buried her face in the pelts of her brother and Flowerheart, wanting this night to be over. Her small ears pricked as she scented her mother coming near to the nursery. " I have some herbs from Tigerstripe," she mewed, placing the herbs down. She picked up the thyme and stepped closely to her kits. " I want both of you to eat this, it will make you feel better," she urged.
Bramblekit didn't care about the scent of the herbs at the moment. He then licked his share up the forest like taste oddly calming. He then glanced at Dawnpelt "is Ashpelt home" he mewled in concern.
Hawkpool looked around the camp. She swished her tail across the leaves, and got to her paws. "Duskwind" she meowed and went over to the warrior. "Have you seen Icestar, or Flamestar? I want to ask something."
Dawnpelt purred to her kits as they ate their herbs dutifully, " Ashpelt is home, he is resting in the medicine cat's den. They'll take care of him, you must rest for now, " she said, nudging her kits gently with her nose. She lay near them, forming a circle with Flowerheart around them, wanting to see them sleep.
Bramblekit nodded, and curled up close to Dawnpelt and Sunkit. He closed his eyes in an attempt to sleep, at first he struggled to do so as the thoughts of the fight, and not being able to help his father haunted him. Soon the herbs took effect and he fell into a calm sleep.
Duskwind made a noise to signal to the conversing leaders that he was there, not wanting to disturb them. He glanced over the camp from the vantage point, his ears drooping at the state of things.
Dawnpelt lay with her kits and Flowerheart for a few moments longer, relishing the peaceful moment for as long as she could. Before she too could fall asleep, she gently lifted herself from the bundle of sleeping kits. " Flowerheart, if you need anything, please tell me, " she mewed, looking at the queen.
Flamestar looked up "hello Duskwind. Is there something you need?" He asked kindly. Icestar glanced over and nodded to Hawkpool.
Ashpelt stirred slightly at the arguing cats. Tigerstripe hissed a warning at Greenbush and Feathercloud as they left the camp. "I swear to StarClan if you wake the resting cats I'll put you in the elders den" she said sharply to the two. "Feathercloud get some rest. That claw could get infected if you go hunting now" she said with a sigh.
