Dawnpelt remained where she was, “ I will also stay on guard, “ she
said, sitting down near Ashpelt. She was relieved that he no longer
appeared to be in danger. “If there is anything else you need,
Greenbush, please let me help.” She offered
Tigerpaw ran back into camp, and looked around. "Tigerpaw what's
wrong!" Flamestar mewed and ran over to the apprentice. Tigerpaw
exclaimed what happened, and after that the two ran out of camp.
Dawnpelt stood and addressed Flamestar, “ We reached the border
where the river meets the mountains. I began to cross the river,
and the badger attacked Ashpelt as he was renewing the border
marker. I didn’t scent the badgers presence...” Dawnpelt said,
sadly.
Flamestar nodded "it's alright the scent of badger was downwind. It
got our scent, but we couldn't scent it..." he meowed to Dawnpelt
gently. He then turned back to Greenbush "how long until he's safe
to move?" he asked gently.
Flamestar nodded, and glanced back at Ashpelt "Once he's safe to
move I'll get a patrol to bring him back to camp. How did Tigerpaw
handle the situation?" he asked kindly.
Tigerpaw looked at her paws, and remembered how she struggled to
stay calm at first.
Greenbush smiled. "She did well." He meowed kindly. "She knew just
what to put on the wound to help heal it, and to make sure it
didn't continue bleeding. I'm sure it must have been nerve
wracking, but she did well."
Dawnpelt looked at Tigerpaw gratefully. She sat down along side
Ashpelt, careful not to jostle him. “ She fought like a true
warrior of Desertclan, “ she said quietly.
Flamestar nodded "then I believe Lilypaw will become a warrior
tonight when Ashpelt can go back to camp. Tigerpaw you can get your
clan name when Greenbush thinks you're ready. Though great job
today" he said gently to Tigerpaw. Tigerpaw nodded and looked over
to Lilypaw, who was looking happier than usual.
Flamestar dipped his head in agreement, and looked to the stars.
Tigerpaw then yawned, and went over to Ashpelt. She gingerly
sniffed at the wound on the warrior to tell if it was still
bleeding or not. The scent of blood wasn't as strong as it was when
the badger attack happened, and the cobwebs stayed white.
"Greenbush. I think the bleeding stopped" she meowed gently.
Greenbush dipped his head slightly, sniffing the wound. He nodded.
"Correct. I'm going to say we should try and move him back to camp,
but we might need more than two cats. We have to make sure not to
jostle him too much."
