"I think we should go investigate" Tigerpaw meowed evenly. "We don't know where the fighting is coming from..."

The badger spat as it knew it was outnumbered it ran off with a bite to the tail by Lilypaw. Ashpelt then collapsed into the dirt, and growled.

Breezetail nodded and began to pad forward, pausing to taste the air and listen. "I think it was that way." She meowed, flicking her tail.

Tigerpaw nodded in agreement, and walked off. She used her old training to pick up the scent of badger. Something else was with the scent blood! she caught the scent in shock, and ran off.

Dawnpelt hissed at the Badger as it fled, then rushed to Ashpelt’s side. “ Are you okay? Can you stand?”, she asked, licking the wound on his neck.

Ashpelt growled, and tried to stand, but collapsed once more. "Nope don't think so" he meowed trying not to sound to alarming. He then looked up when Lilypaw announced she caught the scent of her sister.

Tigerpaw leapt a root of a tree, and stumbled slightly. She then burst into the clearing the others were in her flanks heaving as she struggled to catch her breath.

Breezetail leapt after Tigerpaw, skidding to a halt. "StarClan." She breathed. She didn't move though, as she had no idea what to do. She looked at Tigerpaw. "This is on you." She meowed softly. "You can do this."

"Please go get Greenbush" Tigerpaw meowed quickly in fear. She was still an apprentice, and she was unsure how to help here. StarClan help me please she thought sharply, and examined Ashpelt. "Uhh...j..just get marigold, and cobwebs for now. Ashpelt's wound is deep..." she meowed partially unsure. Lilypaw narrowed her eyes as she watched.

"What's wrong cant you do this?" Lilypaw asked crossly.

Tigerpaw hissed. "Go make yourself useful, and find some cobwebs" she said in annoyance.

Breezetail dipped her head and dashed off.

"Greenbush!" She yowled, nearly slamming into the medicine cat, almost sending them both into the river. She shook herself. "Come on!" She hissed. "There was a badger fight, and I guess Ashpelt is badly hurt, I think it was a neck wound, and--"

Greenbush's eyes widened and he nodded. "Lead the way." He meowed firmly.

Breezetail nodded and turned tail and fled back in the direction she'd come, Greenbush on her tail.

Dawnpelt nodded, “ it’s okay Tigerpaw, we trust you to do your best, “ she mewed quickly before dashing off to the Marigold patch that Tigerpaw had shown her earlier. She picked the plants and returned as quickly as she could.

Tigerpaw looked around, and began to clean Ashpelt's wound. She was gently talking to the warrior as she did so. "You still have to tell me about the trouble you gave Flamestar when he was your apprentice" she meowed partially to herself hoping to keep the warrior from falling asleep.

"Flamestar didn't know what was going on" he purred weakly, and coughed. "He would wonder why I was up a tree half the time" he mewled gently.

Tigerpaw nodded, and put some marigold on the wound happy that Lilypaw was gone.

Breezetail returned, Greenbush hard on her paws. Both skidded to a halt nearby.

With a meow of shock, Greenbush leapt over a log and approached Tigerpaw and Ashpelt. "StarClan." He gasped, and then shook himself. "It was a good idea to put marigold on it. Cobwebs should be next." He meowed worriedly.

Dawnpelt watched Tigerpaw do her work, with concern. “ Thank you, Tigerpaw. I don’t know what we would do with you medicine cats. I should’ve scented the badger....”, Dawnpelt scolded herself, “ I’m so sorry, Ashpelt.”

Tigerpaw nodded, and looked over as Lilypaw came back with cobwebs. "Alright. Here you go" she said lowly and glared at Tigerpaw. Tigerpaw nodded a thanks, and looked over to Greenbush. "Will Ashpelt survive" she whispered in concern.

Greenbush hesitated. "Neck wounds are tricky." He meowed back softly. "As long as he rests for a while, he should be alright. Just make sure no more blood gets out by using the cobwebs."

Tigerpaw nodded, and placed some cobwebs on the wound. "Can we take him back to camp" Lilypaw asked in a slight annoyed tone. Tigerpaw cast her a warning glance, and continued to work on the warrior.

"No," Greenbush meowed firmly. "Don't move him. We don't want to risk accidentally moving the cobwebs." He watched carefully as Tigerpaw worked. She did it well.

Tigerpaw nodded, "so what will we do about predators? He's to far from camp for us to protect him" she asked in concern, and patted the last cobweb into place.

"We'll have to guard him until we can move him." Greenbush replied, sitting down near Ashpelt's head. "We may not have a whole camp, but hopefully that badger won't come back."

Breezetail flicked her tail. "I'll stand guard over there for a bit." She offered, gesturing in the direction the badger had gone. She padded away.
