Ashpelt walked back into the area the clan was resting he put the scrawny Rabbit next to Dawnpelt and sat down. Mudfeather looked around the clan and decided to go on a hunting patrol. She gathered Stonetail and Fallentree and left the area.

Dawnpelt felt more at east when Ashpelt returned, as she always did. She divided up the rabbit into smaller pieces for the kits to eat. Sunkit pawed weakly at her portion, but ended up taking a small bite. " Thank you, " Dawnpelt purred to Ashpelt.

Ashpelt nodded and settled down next to Dawnpelt. He licked a wound that was bothering him. "You're welcome how are the kits?" He asked in concern and took notice that Bramblekit was forcing himself to eat.

Dawnpelt looked at her kits with concern, licking Sunkit in an attempt to make her feel more calm. " They are coping, for now " she said, not wanting to worry Ashpelt. To be honest, she was surprised at how well her kits were handling being exiled from their home. She hoped that they would fair well on the journey.

Dawnpelt scanned the area, checking to see if Tigerstripe had seen to all those who were injured or unnerved in any way. " I'm going to speak with Tigerstripe and Flamestar, stay with the kits..." she purred, uncurling herself from being wrapped around Sunkit and Bramblekit. She padded across the clearing to where Tigerstripe was tending to Flamestar, and sat beside them, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. " Flamestar..." she said, not sure how to begin. " What happened this morning?" she mewed, looking nervously as his wounds, though relieved to see that Tigerstripe treated him well.

Flamestar looked at Dawnpelt and closed his eyes partially troubled by the memory. "I was talking to StarClan, Tigerpelt just told me that pines would help bring the sun when she warned me to wake up. Before I awoken I felt something pinning me to the ground. I woke up to find Sandfeather standing over me..." He meowed hollowly. Tigerstripe sat next to her father and groomed his phone to calm him. "After that she asked how many lives I had...I told her I had one and she and I fought" he muttered. He then flicked his tail to the partially dry blood on his throat. "As you can see I lost..." He meowed grimly.

Dawnpelt was chilled at the thought of what Flamestar had gone through. Thank Starclan he had more than one life...but how many lives left does he have?, Dawnpelt thought briefly before shaking the thought away. " You may have lost that battle, but you lived to save your clan, " she said softly. " The pines would help bring the sun...I suppose that's why you wanted to go to Pineclan, " she said, thinking aloud.

Flamestar nodded and licked his chest fur in an attempt to clean himself off. "Exactly why I want to go to PineClan" he meowed kindly. He then flicked an ear and sighed "I've four live left by the way" he mewed as if guessing what Dawnpelt was thinking.

Dawnpelt blinked, always unnerved when her leader appeared to read her thoughts. " That's good to hear, " she said softly. " We should resume walking soon, I'd rather not move the clan up the mountain in the dark of night," Dawnpelt glanced at Tigerstripe, seeking her approval that Flamestar was ready to move.

Tigerstripe nodded and got to her paws. "We should get as far from turtle rock as we can. Though we'll need to see up camp soon. It's going to be dark earlier than usual as it's almost leaf-bare, and we still have injured cats" Tigerstripe replied gently to the deputy as Flamestar nodded in agreement.

Dawnpelt looked at the sky anxiously, not having noticed that it had darkened earlier than usual. " The way to Pineclan from here is along a twoleg path. We must be careful where we camp along the way," she mewed, not wanting to imagine a twoleg running through her resting clanmates in a strange area.

Duskwind flicked her tail, nervous at the thought of letting anyone leave the group. So much went wrong when Ashpelt and I left this morning..., she thought, scolding herself for not having better judgement. " How about Fallentree and Duskwind? I think he could use the distraction...," she said, referring to her brother. She glanced at him, sitting far off from the group.

The realization that they'd just lost their home hit Feathercloud like a monster those twolegs rode in. She sat down, shivering slightly. It was a shocking realization to say the least, and she was willing to storm back into the camp and die. She shook herself and wrapped her tail over her paws, looking at the other cats.

Fallentree looked over to Feathercloud. He then went over to the warrior partially limping. "Hey...it'll be alright" Fallentree mewled gently and sat next to the warrior in an attempt to calm her.

Feathercloud looked over at Fallentree and nodded in nervous agreement. "I hope so." She murmured, flicking her ears as she listened to the cats around them. She seemed to notice he was limping and glanced at his paws. "Are you alright?" She asked in concern.

Fallentree looked at his pad which was completely torn open. He then licked it in an attempt to ease the pain. "I'll be fine...I promise" he said gently to Feathercloud.
