Jake noticed everyone's hesitation. "Do I have to pull these elements to you guys? You think trying to get one is bad? Try and get the same one, while avoid dying from the other ones too."

"That's possible?" Cam asked, glancing up at the group before raising her arm and yawning into her sleeve. "Just one cave is exhausting." She added, dropping her arms by her sides as she pushed herself off the ground and stood up.

But then again, Him, Elizabeth, Allen, and Sasha were in that same spot, in a whole different universe. The Jake he is now, never knew if elements. That is, until the other him turned evil and clashed with his brother, ultimately destroying the universe. Jake does not want to become what the other one was. He will protect everyone he loves and the universe

"You know a lot about the elements," Cam started cautiously, playing with her sleeves nervously. The end of the sleeves fell a few inches from her fingertips. "Is it okay is I ask why? Nobody really talks about the elements where I come from. How do you know so much?"

"just a few years ago, I knew nothing of these elements." He answered. "Then one night, I had a nightmare. About the world ending. Me and my friends getting these elements to save the universe from a bad guy. Me... Me becoming evil. My brother awakened fifty years later, from magic or so, and stopped me. We destroyed an entire universe. I don't want to become like the Jake Stone in that other universe. And that's why I'm doing this now, before Earth gets invaded again."

Cam hesitated before placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I know we just met, and this is kinda like a rag-tag group right now, but we're here for you. I mean. I am, I guess." She sighed. "It could happen to any of us, y'know? Any of us could become evil. Besides, if you started doing anything evil, I'm not sure I'd be able to stop you." She let out a forced sounding laughed, pulling her hand back.

Mystique shrugged, getting up. "I'm going in. Wish me luck." He hadn't even taken one step before Lauren had shot up, standing by him. She gripped his hand, nodding but staying quiet. She let go, sitting back down. "So how does this work?" He approached Jake, barely stepping forward once more.

"one of you will go in at a time." He said. "The elements that you choose, will then choose you, if you have been watching me and Cam. If it rejects your body, you will die. If you get it. The element will then calm down. I will be ready to intervene if I think you are about to die."

Cam looked over at Mystique. "I would offer to help, but I'm like seventy percent sure I'd end up getting us both killed in the process of attempting to help." She gave the small group a small smile, glancing at her feet. Her green eyes flashed as she yawned again. "Have you decided which one you're picking?"

"I'm going for water!" Mystique announced loudly, going into the room. As if the universe loved him, nothing happened. Outside the room, Lauren was shaking. She wanted Mystique to be happy, but what if something happened? What if he was about to die? Thankfully, the element of water seemed to accept him. Lauren let out a sigh of relief.

Cam gaped from outside, green eyes blown wide. "Oh that is so not fair." She muttered, staring into the room. "Fire is so mean." She whined, though she certainly felt warmer than usual. "I can't believe it almost murdered me. I'm so jealous! Water is so cool!"

Cam glanced over at Jake in slight horror. "I take back what I said. Water is not cool. I simply adore Fire. Sure, I probably have third degree burns everywhere. Sure, burning is supposed to be one of the most painful ways to die! But I think I'd take a pass on drowning." She shivered, hugging the sweatshirt tighter around herself.

"at least he wasn't dropped into the Bermuda Triangle like Allen was. Just to get the Water Element." Jake said. "We were lucky I found this elemental deposit here. And didn't have to go to any extreme to find them."

Cam nodded thoughtfully. "I guess he could have been one of the bravest, huh?" She sighed and shook her head. "At least he was able to do something? What am I supposed to do? Actually, any of us for that matter? We were given these powers, but how many better people are there? People better suited for powers? I dunno. It's an honor to be entrusted with them, it really is. But at the same time... I dunno." She shrugged. Her eyes turned a shade darker as she glance down towards the ground.
