After getting everything that Lan needed, he led Sam back down the
same route, reaching the house in a matter of minutes. "I wonder if
Rick's still asleep," Lan muttered as he opened the door.
"Good question" Sam said slightly amused. She never met anyone who
could sleep in so late "it's a good thing you aren't going on a
mission today" sighing, she shook her head. "After all who would go
with you if he's passed out"
Lan shrugged. "I could probably drag you along," he said, "Or go by
myself." Lan walked into the house, to find the living room still
empty. He assumed Rick was still asleep, and sighed.
Lan grinned, and walked into Rick's room, careful to not step on
various trinkets and such on the floor. Rick had many random thing,
but the one thing Lan was after was right next to Rick's peaceful
figure, snoring soundly. Lan quietly grabbed Rick's journal,
careful to not disturb him, and quickly exited the room. "All
right," he said quietly, "I wonder if he's added anything."
Lan smiled, and opened the journal, laying it on the table in the
living room. He opened to the first page, which seemed to be a page
filled with letters of the alphabet, written VERY crudely. "Oh
yeah, he couldn't write at all when he got here," Lan said, "Said
it was really difficult."
Lan shook his head. "No, he knew how to write," he said, "He just
said it was hard to write with paws." (Lan is just messing with Sam
now, not giving her all the info XD)
Lan smiled, but didn't answer the question, as he continued
flipping through multiple drawings. Most of them were of Rick or
Lan, or of locations in Salem, each drawing slightly better than
the last, but some of them were different. They were drawings of a
town or city, but the architecture, setting, and even technology
were nothing like Salem's. They were images of tall, square, and
symmetrical buildings, lined with what looked like a dark road(the
drawings are in pencil), and there were multiple drawings of
different locations of this one place. "These are the ones I like
the most," Lan said, "It just looks so surreal. Similar, but
entirely different to this place."
"Yeah, he's drawn a few of them recently," Lan said, "I don't know
why." Lan turned the page, to a sketch of Rick's face. Rick's
drawing style was very cartoony, and a bit clumsy, but this sketch
look more realistic and carefully drawn than the others. "Huh, this
one's new," Lan said, "It looks really good."
