Ivy leaned against the cave wall and stared at the ground, hugging herself as she stood there.
''i just wanna go home.....'' she muttered, tear's welling up in her eye's.
"Look, Evie. We took a chance on you two and it worked out for the most part. Hopefully for the best. We want something from Dexter and he wants something from us--that's the barrier that holds us from trying to murder each other. It's worth a shot, don't you think? If we're going to survive, we need shelter. And it's right in front of us," Elli said, staring her straight in the eye. She hesitated and took a minute to take in what he was saying. "It's two against one, anyway. If you don't want to stay you can go off on your own," he added.
Elli turned around to Ivy, running a hand through his hair. "Hey," he mumbled, "you're gonna get to. We're going to get through this and then we're going to go home. And it'll be peaceful and happy for once. We'll have to deal with some stuff along the way, but I promise you that I'll get you home. On my life." He offered her a small, promising smile.

Ivy jumped and yelped, staring at Dexter with wide eye's as she clung to Elli, her arm's wrapped rather tightly around his torso.
Oliver flinched slightly and aimed the shotgun at him, gritting his teeth slightly.
Her eyes flickered to Elli, who had flinched at Dexter's voice and would've raised his sword, if not for Ivy.

Oliver slowly lowered the shotgun and seemed to relax just a bit, but not by much.
''that's a rather sincere motion from a crazy hermit like yourself lad....'' he muttered.
Dexter gave a crooked, twisted grin and tilted his head as he looked at Oliver, not seeming all that bothered at being called a crazy hermit as an insult, he more took it as a compliment.
''why thank you bud, that's very sweet'' he said with a small chuckle.

Ivy glanced at him and shrank a bit, not exactly one to trust easily.
Oliver gritted his teeth and narrowed his eye's.
''how is that "fair" exactly?!'' he said, getting rather annoyed.
He seems civilized enough to not attack us if we were to decline his request. Either way, it would be four against one--although Ivy and Elliot might back out of a fight... God, are they even military trained? She thought, now a bit stressed. Evie really wished that she had gotten to know the group a bit better before she decided to run off with them, but she knew that she had been walking into a mistake when she met Oliver. Risks are going to be the death of me, she thought bluntly, noticing how Ivy shrunk back.
"And if we decide to back out right now?" Elli asked, still staying close to Ivy.

Oliver simply looked at the other three then back at Dexter.

Oliver huffed and gritted his teeth, holstering shotgun and crossing his arm's.
(i was gonna point out.... you meant Evie instead of Ivy, right?)
Elliot flushed and crossed his arms, not quite sure how to react to Dexter's cynicalness. He quite clearly still believed in the hermit, but he had miles to go before he could convince Evie (and maybe Oliver) to stay on their sides. The two Luxes were, admittedly, not the friendliest, but they were fierce and it would be nice to fight with them rather than against them. Evie still stared at him with intense, challenging eyes and a somewhat laid-back pose.
He huffed, his cheeks still pink, and looked at Evie somewhat pleadingly. "You can leave if you want, but I really think you'd have more of a chance staying with us."
She glanced up at Oliver for a moment before shrugging and uttering a simple "Sure."

''i'm gonna get some rest, you can fight over who can keep first watch and who gets what with then blankets and pillows'' he said, kicking his boots off before he disappeared into his little nest of blankets and pillows.
Oliver sighed and covered his face.
''god this is gonna be a hell of a ride....'' he grumbled.
"I'm better at fighting than I seem," he promised, smiling brightly at her. Evie awkwardly stood there, looking around and waiting for Oliver or Ivy to claim first pick on one of the blankets. She ran a hand up her arm, clearly noticing the drop in temperature but not addressing it.

she then sat down a little bit away from him yet still close and sat her stuff down between them, her sniper rifle propped up against the wall and the bag supporting it, then proceeded to lay down and cover up.
Oliver made sure his shotgun's safety was on and lightly patted Evie on the head, then went to get his pick from the pile.
''lass yer shiverin', you should've had a jacket and jeans, or leggings like the nova girl is wearin' ya know'' he said genuinely a bit worried about her, and grabbed a medium sized quilt before walking back over to her, putting it around her shoulders and wrapped her up.
Evie opened her mouth to say something but was speechless for a few seconds because of surprise. "Thank you," she managed to say, glad that it was dark enough to cover her blush. She pulled the quilt closer to herself. "I didn't realize there was a dress code to death games." She smiled softly--the remark was more of a joke than a sarcastic jab at him--and settled down so that she could lay on her back and look at the star-ridden sky behind the tree leaves. It was calming, almost, and it directed her thoughts away from what she was afraid of. She sat in silence for a moment before turning to Oliver. Evie was still skeptical about him, and she couldn't help it. "Have you ever killed anyone?" She asked, her tone firm and steady so that she didn't show vulnerability.

''no, i don' like the thought of killin' another human bein' Evie..... but i won't hesitate to kill just to be able to save myself... i'm loyal to my allies though, so i won't betray anyone'' he said, fishing around in what remained of the pile of blanket's and pillows, which was still a lot.
